Your confusing skills and popularity to what a ATG is. ATG is skills and resume. Cause if you want to go with floyds mayweather resume and his 0 then Calzgahe beats him and should be ranked higher along with marciano. Skills alone floyd beats a lot of boxers, but ATG isnt about skills alone. If you want to go with resume fighting the best in there prime then it Morales compared to floyd. Floyd fought a lot of good fighters not in thier prime. Mosley who people say he is #3 in the world, but thats not a prime Mosley it's like fighting a aged jones, ali, SRL, Lerry holmes, etc and saying I gave this guy a beating. Big deal he wasnt in his prime. Tarver Beat the #1 in the world RJJ, does that mean he ranks #1 in ATG? If you said no thats my point, floyds resume is filled with aged HOF and ATG.

Thats not my point. My point is some people here are basing floyds undefeated record and claiming him #1 or ATG based off that. Well if you think that, then Calzaghe and marciano beat him. So you cant base ATG status based on being undefeated if the quality fighter were aged and not in there prime. Pac and Floyd both fought aged fighters and they have to be taken off the list when analyzing ATG status. Just my opinion as well as Oscars, that ODH, mosley and JMM were not prime so they have to be taken off both floyds and pac (jmm vs pac 3) list of great fights. I would have given Flyd huge credit for Ortiz but we all know what happened.

Bill you know I (a) dislike Floyd Mayweather, (b) feel that Floyd Mayweather is widely overrated both in terms of ability and in terms of career greatness, (c) believe he has shamelessly and brazenly ducked Manny Pacquiao for years, and (d) much, much prefer Erik Morales to Floyd Mayweather.

However, is the fact that Morales fought Pac and Floyd was scared to fight Pac really enough to be the deciding factor over who is the greater fighter, in and of itself? For me, that's only one factor among many other factors to consider when the discussion is overall career greatness as a fighter.

Riddick Bowe refused to fight Lennox Lewis much like Floyd is refusing to fight Pacquiao (though of course Floyd is being far more devious about it, as is the facade he has built up around himself), but that fact in and of itself does not mean that Francois Botha is automatically a greater fighter than Bowe because Botha fought Lewis and also fought numerous other fighters potentially/arguably more dangerous than the vast majority of guys that Bowe fought (namely Wladimir Klitschko and Mike Tyson).

If who you fought was the most important factor in determining greatness, then Freddie Pendleton (47-26-5) would be one of the greatest fighters of the last 30 years, considering he went in with Frankie Randall (twice), Roger Mayweather, Livingstone Bramble, Pernell Whitaker, Jorge Paez, Rafael Ruelas, Giovanni Parisi, Darryl Tyson, Tony Lopez, Felix Trinidad, Vince Phillips, Ben Tackie and Ricky Hatton in his career - while many fighters in this time period were accused of ducking one or more of these fighters.

Mayweather has been ducking Pacquiao, of this there can be no doubt in the mind of any sane individual, but one instance of horrendous 'duckage' cannot be the deciding factor in a greatness discussion, there is too much else to consider IMO.

Nah your right  the answer is Mayweather, everything considered, I rank Floyd as the most talented boxer since Pernel Whitaker, personally... just thought I`d give my fav fighter a few props tho, no way I was going against Morales in the twighlight of his career :D BUT its closer than it should be because Erik has the Barrera & Pac wins & Floyd has still to deliver the fight the entire world has been begging for (for 2 fkn yrs) & if he does not fight that fight then it will hurt his legacy unbelievably... & so it should because its not what ATGs should do.

As I said in my 1st post on this thread mate, I agree that Morales has two better wins than any Mayweather has on his ledger (those being Barrera 1 and Pacquiao 1), and I agree that Mayweather's legacy will be forever tarnished if he keeps hiding and lying his way around a Pacquiao fight.

morales is not even close to PBF when it comes down to it! Money is like 20 levels above him when it comes to skill! Morales was a glorified tomato can and he still is actually.
