Didn't claim anything to the contrary, brah. Just noting that there's been a lot of unnecessary bitching thrown in. That said, there's been some poor arguments in Morales's favour in this thread.

I used to box as a kid till teens. Great exercise, loved the sport, and it was good for self defense. I haven't boxed in about 16 years to be perfectly honest.

My record is inconsequential as I am not the one on here calling professional fighters bitches, cowards, pussies, bum, and other totally disrespectful names. These guys deserve more respect than that, even the ones that lose, the nobodies, and the journeymen, etc. Seriously.

Considering the bull**** you type, I seriously doubt you've ever been in the ring.

well since this forum's favourite fighter is Morales and least favourite fighter is Mayweather and it's still this close, I have to assume that Mayweather should win it

It's certainly a closer poll but I think both men are almost dead level on in the skills department and peoples preferences will come into play here. In his prime and even after it Chavez was pretty much the best infighter since Roberto Duran, with a pretty solid defence based on head movement and catching punches on his gloves. He was a great body puncher and pretty much a master of breaking down and dispatching people. Roy on the other hand is the athletic beast, possessing speed and power not seen since Leonard. Add to that a brillaint sense of distance and timing and you have a defensive and offensive beast. Its a closer than one would think and would certainly come down to personal preference I think.

As far as how their respective careers panned out? Both men stayed around way to long, Chavez plaguing himself with questionable self stoppages against the likes of de la Hoya and Tzsyu and Roy getting sparked out by Jamaican journeymen and Russians for pennies. I think Roy has the edge here in accomplishments and resume but that being said I really need to re-evaluate Chavez's career. Both men get their fair amount of flak, and in my person it has nothing to do with race it has everything to do with greatness and what greatness entails. Roy is accused of ducking x y z in a b c nation, while Chavez is accused of fighting nothing but bums. Both are ludicrous remarks and all boil down to people not wanting to admit either is great because they have their own agenda based on jealousy.

While some are no doubt racist and/or ******ed the majority are sheerly wind-up merchants plying for reactions and hissy fits which your giving them by pulling out the race and ****** cards.

People are always going to ship hate against the greats of the moment, whether that is de la Hoya, Chavez, Hopkins, Jones etc. The two men of the moment are Pacquiao and Mayweather and both ship quite a large amount of hate which will no doubt diminish as both men become old news and as fans of the moment disappear.
