Or, alternatively, they were operating in different weight classes?

Floyd ducked Morales, the same way SRL ducked Larry Holmes.

I'm Mexican and Filipino, and Floyd is greater than Morales in every way resume and skills.

MAB and Pac aside it isn't that strong. You hsould include Espadas although allot of people had Espadas winning that 1, anyway:

    Manny Pacquiao (prime)
    Marco Antonio Barrera (prime)
Jesus Chavez - rotator cuff torn
    Carlos Hernandez
In Jin Chi - solid but nothing special
    Wayne McCullough - good
Paulie Ayala - coming up 2weight classes looked a tad soft
    Kevin Kelley - shot
Junior Jones - coming off a KO loss
    Daniel Zaragoza (faded significantly)

    Check this out, brah.

Victor Ortiz - Scraped past the average Berto, was knocked out by the limited Maidana. Nothing special. A quitter with no heart.
Shane Mosley - An old man, had not long lost to Cotto, went life and death with a shot Mayorga, and would draw with...wait for it...Sergio mother-****in Mora immediately after this fight.
Juan Manuel Marquez - Dragged the Mexican up several divisions above his optimal weight. Soft as ****.
Oscar De La Hoya - was 2-2 going into the Mayweather fight, a bit on the old side, and had not long come off a lay off.
    Carlos Baldomir - Lol, basically
Zab Judah - Was actually coming off a loss to the painfully average Carlos Baldomir. Front-runner.
Jose Luis Castillo - A large group of fans and pundits actually scored the first fight in the Mexican's favour.
Diego Corrales - Dead at the weight. Weight drained.
    Genaro Hernandez - Significantly faded.
Ricky Hatton - In his only other fight at WW, almost got knocked out by Luiz Collazo. I had him losing that fight and I'm a British flag-waver.
    Jose Luis Castillo
    Carlos Hernandez
    Angel Manfredy
    Jesus Chavez
    Emmanuel Augutus

Wow, the absolute definition of a strong resume.
