Well yeah, I was just trying to see what Mayweather has to do to get in Rumsfeld Top 10 ATG list :D

I have Mayweather in my Top 10 ATG list, because I feel every generation has a great fighter & boxing didn't have more than 10 generations :smoke

I have SRR as #1, but if Mayweather fights GGG & Ward & wins both he is the #1 ATG, if he wins one & loses the other he is ~ #5

The point he has to take major risks to compensate for the absence of the risk factor in his career.

SRR is near perfect, he primed in Lightweight, dominated all Welter (EXCEPT Burley, because nobody is perfect), he lost in Middle & dared to Challenge Light Heavies!

So its not crazy to ask Mayweather to step in the ring with GGG & Andre Ward...If he wants to be considered the Greatest he has to beat both of them, because The GOAT is supposed to have these exceptional feats :good

Could be wrong but I don't think SRR even fought at lw. he best weight was at welter and he made a splash at middle and even fought and lost a grueling fight at light heavy.

Mayweather is so far away from the greatest it's a silly argument. Even if he won these fights and was 50-0, look at Duran who was 71-1 when he stepped into the ring and beat SRL who is considered the second best at Welter behind SRR. Meanwhile SRR fought over 200 fights. Duran had over 100 victories, so how does Mayweather even deserve a mention as the GOAT. It's virtually impossible for him to get to number 1. Crack the ATG top 10 even that's going to be tough.

Few People know that, but SRR could have been 20-0 Two division champion -in today standards- by the time he reached Welter :yep

He fought his first 20 fights (Prime in modern times :yep ) in Lightweight , he beat what equals today a full Lightweight Belt Holder in, in Sammy Angott

I usually rank people cause I know who they are, not cause I heard people say...SRR is #1 ATG no questions about it. However, I am open minded to the idea that any young champion can become an the G.O.A.T if he does what it takes to just be that.

robinson started at lightweight and tried his luck at 175 he failed, big deal, his resume speaks for itself. hes the greatest for a reason. he and greb personify what the greatest fighters are all about.

greb wanted fights with dempsey after he beat tunney and dempsey ducked that ass

The numbers are good, but many of the fights the all timers took were not always Class A-B , I dare to say ... Julio Cesar Chavez was 86-0, Ramirez was up there, Campos was 56-0 50 KOs when he faced Trinidad :yep

Thats a weak argument, in this era Champion just can't fight as often. PPV has to approve their fights & they can't have fun tours like SRR did, not that big records are bad...its just a diff era

Mayweather is GOAT in my book, if he beats GGG & Andre Ward. To say he can't be GOAT is irrational & anti-productive... The idea is to lure Mayweather into Mega fights. If you close the door, the guy will walk way with 50-0 Half a Billion and hire historians for pennies to educate the future generations :yep

Put a poll up, and only the young with ever even consider him a contender for GOAT. In fact you're almost insulting the whole history of the sport by suggesting his anywhere near that good. Langford, Greb, SRR, etc. are far, far ahead of Mayweather whether you believe that to be the case or not. You can also add, Duran, SRL etc.

You can't spend a whole career not fighting the best fighters out there and then point to your 50-0 record and say look I've never been beat. Well perhaps you would have been beat if you fought Pac in his prime, but as it stands now, we'll never know. If he fought Ward and beat him I would give him a hell of a lot of props, even though I don't think Ward is in the same league as say a Hagler. And honestly, does anyone think Mayweather would hve stepped into the ring and beat a prime Hearns? I don't think he would have beat a prime Pryor, never mind fighting Hagler.

Thats the whole point, fighters should be encouraged to take risky fights at the end of their career. Mayweather should be encouraged to take on GGG & Andre Ward...if all goes easy for him, why not ??

Unless he sees people discrediting him, even before taking fights he will be the obvious Underdog, then he will just be Money Mayweather Undefeated and buyout his GOAT status, instead of trying to earn it or lose it!

By trying to discredit him irrationally, you leave him no option...but to have a claim for GOAT in the eyes of many.

It has to be fair, Clear wins vs GGG + Andre Ward = GOAT

You're clearly missing something here. Floyd is a great fighter, that's undeniable. But a big part of the FLoyd mystique is that he is undefeated and a lot of fans, if not most, attribute that to Floyd's careful match-making.

Morales has already proven he can defeat prime ATG-type fighters. Floyd, although we can guess he can, has not. This poll is close for a reason.

I didn't say he is GOAT now

I said Mayweather could be GOAT if he beat

    Undisputed/Lineal GGG 160lbs (possibly +300 Mayweather)
    Undisputed/Lineal Ward 168lbs (possibly +500 Mayweather)

Those are very risky fights & if Mayweather wins them he earned the right to call himself GOAT, nothing offensive about that

Well yeah, even Zelenoff think he is GOAT

If the boxing public accepts the formula: GGG + Ward = GOAT, then there is a chance Floyd might just do it :yep

Rustico Torrecampo beat an 11-0 Pacquiao prospect

Medgoen Singsurat beat a 26-2 Prime Pacquiao

If you are not peaking at 28 fights (in modern times) then you are not peaking at all
