Have to go with Lewis one but only just.
What swings it for me is Foreman admiting it himself.

When you introduce emotion and opinion with loose facts being presented objectivley and not subjectively your argument fails. Try a different approach if you want people to listen to you.

I voted Foreman, but like many said earlier - it was a tough call.
Foreman's career after 40 and adjustments that he made (better defense, stamina, ring generalship) were the keys to that decision.

Tough call but I go with Lewis based on depth of resume.

In my honest opinion, George Foreman's battle with Ron Lyle should be viewed as more of a credit to his career, as opposed to the signature bad performance that its often made out to be.

In January of 1976, Ron Lyle was the #5 ranked heavyweight contender taking on Former champ George Foreman. He was for the most part, in his prime and coming off a good win over Earnie Shavers just a few months earlier. It was the first match that Foreman had fought since losing to Muhammad Ali in Zaire in October of 1974 - 15 months prior to the Lyle fight. I think that its fair to assume two things:

    1. Foreman had been rattled a bit in his humiliating loss to Ali

    2. He was suffering from a bit of ring rust after not having fought in 15 months.

Despite the above, Foreman engaged in a balls out slugfest ( the kind we seldom see anymore ), and rose off the canvas twice to score a clear cut knockout victory - Something Lennox Lewis has never done.

Foreman wins this, his two combined careers out do any Heavyweight with the exceptions of Ali and Louis. Lewis is a top 10 all-time Heavy, but lower top 10 IMO.

my top 10 all time HW

    1. Muhammad Ali
    2. Joe Louis
    3. Jack Dempsey
    4. Jack Johnson
    5. Ezzard Charles
    6. Gene Tunney
    7. Rocky Marciano
    8. Lennox Lewis
    9. Evander Holyfield
    10. Larry Holmes

then, Foreman is not in My top 10...even Liston and frazier...
holyfield is not considered top 10 HW in many experts' lists but i would rank him at 9 ahead of holmes, foreman and frazier...

I'd like to see you slow down these threads. You're drowning everything else out. And some of these threads could be good ones if there was less of them.

    You're flooding the market.

the results shows that foreman is really not a top 10 guys, he may not even be top 13 if we include the careers of charles and moore at lightheavy
