Both were born in 1982. Who is the better Asian fighter?

Donaire ranks higher by a mile but I could see the case for GGG being a better fighter both at their natural weight

Golovkin easily. He's only lost to one fighter, and dominated his division. How is this a question?

    GGG

For me he has one loss on his record and that's the 3rd Canelo fight

Donaire by far. Achieved alot more. GGG would have to have a KO win over Canelo for him to be in the same sentence. Yes GGG got robbed on cards but Donaire was getting KO wins in the title fights that mattered. Something GGG couldn’t do

It's close. I love GGG dearly but I think Donaire's mutli-weight accomplishments and the depth of the talent he bested outweighs the dominance of GGG.

Golovkin boasts wins over: Canelo Alvarez (4-weight champ, we all know he beat him, all the "official decision" pedants can kindly go away), Danny Jacobs (WBA and IBF 160 champ), Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Ryota Murata (2012 Olympic gold medalist, WBA 160 champ), Martin Murray (robbed against Sturm and Maravilla), Matthew Macklin (EBU 160 champ), Daniel Geale (IBF, IBO, and WBA 160 champ), David Lemieux (IBF 160 champ), and Kell Brook (IBF 147 champ). Golovkin lost only to Canelo Alvarez.

Donaire boasts wins over: Fernando Montiel (WBO 112 champ, WBO 115 champ, WBO and WBA 118 champ, coming off his win over the also excellent Hozumi Hasegawa when he met Donaire), Vic Darchinyan (IBF 112 champ, undisputed 115 champ), Toshiaki Nishioka (WBC 122 champ), Nordine Oubaali (WBA 118 champ), Omar Narvaez ( made a record 27 defences of his title at 115), Jorge Arce (4 division champ), Volodymyr Sydorenchenko (WBA 118 champ), Ryan Burnett (IBF and WBA 118 champ), Hernan Marquez (WBA 112 champ), Wilfredo Velasquez Jr (WBO 122 champ), Simpiwe Vetyeka (right after Vetyeka beat Chris John btw), Jeffrey Mathebula (IBF 122 champ), and Moruti Mthalane (IBF and IBO 112 champ, made 9 successful defences of his IBF belt). Donaire lost to Guillermo Rigondeaux, Nicholas Walters, Carl Frampton, Jessie Magdaleno, Alexandro Santiago, and Naoya Inoue.

I love both of these exceptional fighters but I think Donaire edges it.

Even if you give GGG the Nelo fights, Donaire is still greater.

I would implore everyone insisting on golovkins lack of losses being a reason he is superior, to remember that he basically fought nobody till his 30s, and no one close to elite till atleast 33.

Even if one alters history to furnish Golovkin with wins he doesn't actually have, Donaire clearly carries a higher all-time ranking. It's not close.
