I thought about this a bit, I think Nonito is greater, with a considerably deeper resume.

I think most of the counter-arguments are actually arguments that Golovkin was better in his respective weight-class than Donaire was, which I agree with, but is not the same as greatness.

The knack against GGG with that statement is that it could also be said that "he was only dominant in one division, and lost to the top fighter that he fought there" when looking at it glass half empty way.

Technically speaking, you can say that Donaire was dominant in multiple divisions while only having lost to two guys in his best division (118) as well, and had stopped fighting after the second Inoue fight like how GGG retired after his third Canelo fight, he won't have had his loss to Santiago in his final title fight at bantamweight so it is more than arguable that he could've been what GGG was considered in 160 for 118 had he stayed there the whole time.

Donaire was greater; Golovkin was better.

That is, Donaire has greater accomplishments, but Golovkin was better skilled.

    Tough...

    Donaire bigger p4p puncher.
    Golovkin better p4p chin.
    Skill pretty equal.
    Donaire better résumé.
    Golovkin should arguably be unblemished.
