    Than Whitaker? No way!!!

Whitaker, far more successes against top elite opposition, Whitaker beat Chavez bad.

And at the higher weight classes, Whitaker triumphs.

    Whitaker ranks ahead by far.

Whitaker is a top 15-20, Chavez top 35-40. :deal

Chavez ranks above Toney though, that we can say for sure, but Whitaker ranks above Chavez by a good distance.

I'm sure his referring to the Taylor and Whitaker fights, which still cause controversy to this day

Lets not pretend that many fighters we consider great were not busted because they were clean. Boxing is and has been full of steroids for decades.

Toney's MW resume is stellar, his overall competition in his career is as well.. He has ATG skills, and won world titles at multiple weights and was a decent HW.

    He is an ATG.

You real don't know boxing what he did at MW alone is enough to grant him Atg status in that division He's also one of the best defensive boxers of all time ..

Chavez jr obviously by name he will win, but JT was the greater fighter.
JT could had fought 200 straight Mexican cab drivers and went 200/0 with 190 ko's.
if JT stayed in shape year round that dude would've been a total beast fight in fight out.

career wise, obviously JR is higher but for me, talent for talent and skill for skill I have JT as the greater fighter. JT himself turned out to be his toughest opponent, he lost to himself many many times

WHAT,, JT is a sure fire ATG, not near the top but top 50 ish I would have to say. umm now that I think about it, maybe outside the top 50 . IDK anymore..

ATG should really be top 25 or top 50 at the most..

JT did fail a couple tests for roids but I kind of give the big fella a pass because that old man was doing to to speed up his Achilles for one to get ready for the Rahman or Ruiz fight and the other was for an injury also.

pretty sure he failed them for ruiz and Rahman, one would think if he was going to roid for the true benefits he would had done it vs tougher comp than them, like when he had to fight peters, he really won that first fight. for me, that was a great unbelievable performance for a former MW

The Whitaker decision was horrible granted (as was the Toney/Teberi decision), but I don't have any issues with the Taylor decision, Chavez half killed him FFS!

Chavez sr is in my top 20.

I don't think I have toney in my top 50..

James had a boatload of talent, but his lack of dedication/work ethic is what didn't allow him to reach his absolute potential.

I did not realize Chavez ranks that high. If that this case, I have to change my position, then Chavez could conceivably rank higher than JT.

Agreed that Toney ranks somewhere in the TOP 50-TOP 80 ATG range. Toney just was not consistent enough to be ranked higher.
