Lewis for me. Had a much more dominant reign and won all his big fights.
In their relative weight classes, Lewis ranks higher as an ATG

DLH came up short in big fights. Not by much, but it's noticeable. He was a hair's breadth away from being a truely great fighter (had, for example, the Mayweather and Tito decisions gone his way.

Lewis ranks higher at heavyweight than Oscar does in any single weight class, but Oscar's the better P4P fighter.

As a massive De La Hoya fan I would go with Oscar for how he went through the weights and many forget what Oscar did before he got to WW.
I dont think Oscar lost the Trinidad, Mosely or Mayweather fights.
Then look at who Oscar did beat officially -
    Vargas
    Gatti
    Carr
    Quartey
    Sturm
    Castillejo
    Chavez
    Whittaker
    Hernandez
    Leija
    Gonzalez
    Molina
    Ruelas
    Bredahl
    Forbes
    Mayorga

Oscar would get my vote but when I thought of some of Lennox opponents it is very debateable and I could possibly see it the other way tomorrow

Tough pick. Lewis has a better resumé, having avenged every blemish on his record and beaten all of his rivals. But Oscar was more talented to me and the best guys around his weight were of a higher caliber than Lewis' comp.

Huge Oscar fan but Lewis for me, you can't discount dominance like he had, in a great era

I would pick Oscar if the decisions against Tito and Mosley went his way (like they should have)

Interestingly, how high would people here rank him had he beaten Hopkins @160?

The 90s was, IMO, the second strongest period in heavyweight history. Lewis went through that period having beaten all of his rivals and having avenged his only two underperformances. He dominated a division of historic strength.

I have him as the #2 heavyweight of all time, behind Ali.

DLH had great skill, but there was a little bit of something in his makeup that was missing - the thing that separates the greats from the ATGs. The ability to will yourself to the next level. Lewis had it, and showed it in the Vitali fight. I'm not sure DLH ever showed that. He would have won the Trinidad fight if he did.

For that reason, my pick is Lewis.

Oscar has wins over 4 ATG's, Whitaker Chavez, Trinadad and Mosley, (I don't care what the judges said in the last 2), and he gave Mayweather a good fight when he was well past his best, that's better than anything Lewis did IMO.
