Where do you rank Chris Byrd, top 15 perhaps?

I had Sturm winning, but the fight was at MW, FFS, and what, did Sturm somehow absorb all of Oscar's accomplishments by losing a close decision that probably should have gone the other way? Even if he did beat Oscar, who the **** else did he beat? Dude spent 95% of his career hiding out in Germany feasting on total cans. Oscar's resume shits all over Sturm's.

Sturm actually has a very good MW resume and how was he hiding by being based in Germany?

He's still fighting at the highest possible level now, a decade after the Oscar robbery.

Jermaine Taylor has his belt now. I'd hardly call that "fighting at the highest possible level".

Losing to a 40 year-old Sam Soliman is not fighting at the highest possible level. Even when Sturm was in his prime he got stopped by an ancient Castillejo, no one in their right mind would rank Sturm ahead of De La Hoya.

Real champs because a magazine says so?
I can agree to a point especially with Hopkins but if you look at all of Martinez title fights, around half of them are common opponents to Sturm, where some have fought one before the other and with mixed results between them, so that dispells that

How did Oscar manage to lose at home to Sturm though?

Chavez was still a world champion when Oscar beat him the first time, Tyson hadn't been a champion for 6 years when Lewis Beat him. Oscar's win over Chavez shits all over Lewis win over Tyson.

Because he was slightly past his best and too small to be fighting at middleweight. We all saw what Hopkins, a true great middleweight, did to him in his next fight. Hopkins would have also destroyed Sturm, but Sturm had no interest in fighting Hopkins.

No, real champs because they were. Martinez beat the man who beat the man who beat the man at MW. Sturm managed to not fight any of them even though they were all around during his career at MW. He chose instead to fight cans and paper titlists in Germany. I find it hilarious that some people who slate Ward for not traveling when he's already basically cleaned out his division turn around and defend this guy, who never fought the best at his weight and only fought outside of Germany like twice in 46 pro fights.

Fights Oscar and beats him, during HIS (Oscar's) era, an apparent 'ATG' in his own backyard but...... doesn't travel.

    :huh

You do realise that De La Hoya started out at Super Featherweight? He was too small to be effective at Middleweight, which is why he had two fights there, one being his controversial win over Sturm and other where he got KO'd by Hopkins.
