I don't think it was really a racist comment. It's more of him being a ****** just like marcedo who are both bandwagon biased Pacquiao fans that don't follow history. Marcedo say Hearns is chinny? Does he know that 3 of the last 4 ko he suffer were at middleweight? A weight that he don't belong? At ww to say jmw is Hearns weight. Mostly at ww in which he fought 20+ times there.

There's boxing greats that didn't like Leonard; Jack La Motta never considered him HOF

Now let's see his 4 greats victories:

    1. Duran: Leonard never beat a peak Duran. NEVER.
    In his own words:
Take the Duran of Montreal and he beats Ray just as bad. Leonard never returned the favour and give him a rematch either until he was washed up.

    2. Hagler: Leonard waited for him to slow down, asked for 12 rds instead of 15, chose a bigger ring and bigger gloves. He had an aide next to the ring shout each time the last fifteen seconds would come so he would start flurrying to influence the judges.( Do you see Manny, Duran, Hagler or Herans having an aide to help them steal a rd ??) Even then many consider him to have lost. Who wins a 15 rder ? I rest my case.

    3. Hearns: Leonard got outboxed for the majority of rds and would have lost had it been a 12 rder. He couldn't solve Hearn's style for the majority of the time they shared the ring. Hearns starting to fatigue was Leonard's luck. He didn't give a rematch either, until he believed Hearns was shot. Then he learned even a shot Hearns could beat him.

    4. Benitez: this is a good win for Leonard, altough a laborious one (Benitez was only trailing by a few rds in the fifteen rd). And who was Benitez ? His best wins were split dec over Palomino and Cervantes. Hardly a murderer's row.

So when people cite Leonard's wins over these four fighters, there's more to the story that it might appear .

Nothing more than common knowledge. Everybody knows these facts.

Compare this in contrast to they way Pac dominates his oponnents.
Compare this to the way Pac climbs weight classes and destroys the best opposition available.

By the way, it's Duran who taught Leonard the strategy to employ for the rest of his career; use every trick possible to get the most advantages against your oponnents.

    Ray was a good learner.

I'm not saying he wasn't but do you think Leonard was more naturally gifted than Robinson?

By reading the comments in this thread I was thinking about the fact that Duran and SRL ATG status greatly increased by the fact that they beat each other. If Pac and Floyd just put up a great competitive fight no matter who wins it their stock will go up in the ATG lists. But if they don't do the fight they could never make it to the top 25 because they will lack a defining win against a top ranked ATG opponent.

if Pac beats the "self proclaimed greatest boxer" that is hiding .....maybe yeah

its better than ranking the "coward" to leonard
