lets not forget how pacquiao won his 8* titles, if pacquiao was to have fought in the era SRL did pac would of fought marquez a third time, have taken the drug test to face gayweather and have not faced margarito , clottey type fighters, comon man!!

This is a subjective question and opinion and weight placed on the components of resume will play a role.

Also, how you define the 'greatness' you are measuring will play some role.

A case can be made for either man. In fact, that's what has happened in the thread so far.

If you count the range of weights that both men have achieved great victories, Pac has a substantial advantage.

If you count the number of years between first and last great opponent (and the activity level during those years), again, Pac has an advantage. And he is still a work in progress.

If you count the number of notable victories each man has, again Pac leads by around 2:1

However, if you count each man's top five wins, Leonard has a clear lead.

And this measure I rank as VERY significant !

If you speculate regarding head to head, I think most would agree that Leonard has a clear advantage.

(This might seem a little unfair, given the smaller natural size of Pac, but even adjusted lb for lb, I still see Leonard as prevailing.)

If you look at each man's overall game, without going into details I believe Leonard has an advantage here. He was a more complete fighter and overall, more skilled.

If we look (subjectively, admittedly) at natural boxing talent, I have Leonard ahead here.

In summary, I would, at this point in tim, rank Leonard higher.

But not by a very wide margin.

    Disclosure:

I was a Leonard fan for most of his career, though he lost some of his shine for me in his conduct of the Hagler and Lalonde bouts.

I'm currently a fan of Pac.

How Pac won his titles was a lot more legitimate than how SRL won his lhw title. Know your history.

It's time for people to come to terms with the fact Kalule would beat every single fighter Pac has fought at the stage they were at when he fought them.:good

Do you think he would go the full twelve??

I think he actually might have a good enough chin to go 12 with Hearns.

Well idk hmmm 50-50 he goes 12.

Duran, Hagler and Hearns were all better than everybody on Pac's resume.
Now the overall competition back then was a lot better also.

Foreal Come on guys, who the fastest guy that Pacquiao has fought?

So Leonard beats one of the top greatest MW's of all times, avenges his loss to Duran, defeats an undefeated, prime Benitez and beats his stylistic nightmare in Hearns and still people go for Pacquiao?:patsch What's wrong with this world?lol

:dealThis. Also unless Pacquiao fights Mayweather(both their faults BTW), he would have never fought a defensive fighter on the level of Benitez.

Exactly, when i look at Sugar's career, i can see he had everything you really wanted.

When I look at Manny's skills and resume, I just see so much missing. Like seriously, how can you go almost 60 fights without fighting one african american:-(
