Moore started fighting young so he got an older guy by 4 years to give him his ID....Everyone knows he started fighting young so the exageration of his age is because of it...Archie did not try to make himself younger it did not matter(he was beating the youngsters soundly) but he was younger than they say...still he was in his 40's when he fought Ali and he landed on Ali quite a few times, his legs and speed diminished and that is what hurt him vs Ali, age related YES...In the Marciano fight Archie was on TOP of his game and on his biggest win streak ever beating the # 1 and # 2 hvyweight besides others
It's debatable, but I went with Monzon, on the strength of his longevity and dominance. OLD FOGEY makes strong points about Marciano's statistical dominance being even a little better than Monzon's, but in a more qualitative sense, I'm extremely impressed by how soundly Monzon won pretty much all of his major fights- 15 world title bouts and only once did he come even mildly close to losing, that being the Griffith rematch.
