ATG: Who Ranks Higher? Morales or Calzaghe?

I'm not sure I would rank Calzaghe over Lopez.

Resume is the single most important factor, but it is not the only factor.

For instance, I think Oscar De La Hoya has a better resume than Floyd Mayweather, but I rank Mayweather higher in all-time pound-for-pound terms than Oscar.

For me, the gap in quality between the resumes of Lopez and guys like Barrera and Morales is too big to ignore. MAB and El Terrible must be ranked higher.

But the gap in quality between the resumes of Lopez and Calzaghe is not so big. Calzaghe's resume is absolutely nowhere near as good as Barrera's or Morales's. I don't believe Calzaghe beat Hopkins, so then I'm looking at his res and thinking, are Kessler and Lacy really so much better than Alvarez and Sorjatorung??

Calzaghe's resume is slightly better all-round, just like Oscar's is better than Floyd's.

Is that enough to mean that Calzaghe is ranked higher p4p than Lopez, who I believe was a clearly superior boxer to Joe??

As I said, I'm not sure. Tricky decision.

Morales easily.
This poll is a perfect representation of why getting a padded record, ducking fighters and fighting a load of stiffs to protect your '0' does not mean you will be seen as greater fighter than a guy who fights the best over a period of time and loses a couple.
Talent-wise Clazaghe was at least as good as Eric but that ain't good enough.

And, talent-wise Joe was pretty close to an Eric Morales. If behind, not by all that much anyway.
