Achieving the most in the span of a decade is one thing but H2H matches vs some of the greatest fighters in boxing history while being mostly the smaller man is completely different. Ps. I never said Pac would just lay in front of anyone in my life, ever. Would I pick those men above to beat Pac ?... yes & may God forgive me, what blasphemy :rofl
Exactly. So let no more be said on that. You don't need to patronize other posters in order to get your point across DINAMITA. Our opinion holds as much as weight as yours does, and nobody has said Mayweather is still the fighter he was when he demolished Corrales at 130lb. I've had the pleasure of seeing Mayweather's recent performances at the higher weights, and I think he has the style to beat a Manny Pacquiao. His sharpshooter mentality, much like Marquez, will cause Pacquiao issues, who will be the aggresor in that fight. You're wrong. :-( I don't think that at all. Exactly. I tipped Oscar, Marquez and Hatton to beat him. I thought Marquez did beat him, and he is the consensus P4P 2. Oscar is a great fighter in his own right, hadn't long gone 12 competitive rounds with the consensus P4P 1, and he held significant height and reach advantages. Hatton, the bigger man, had just shutout the number 2 guy at 140lb, whereas Manny had never fought at that weight before. I had my reasons to pick against Manny Pacquiao. Needless to say, I knew just like everybody else what was going to happen in the Diaz fight. Manny proved not only me wrong but a good percentage of boxing enthusiasts wrong recently. No shame in that. Congratulations to him. Patronizing ****. I have heard people mentioning this as if it would have some kind of relevance to a match up between the two fighters. Just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean it didn't happen, much like just because I don't agree with you gives you the right to be a patronizing ****. Pacquiao had not proved he can take a good shot from a B+ level Lightweight, so I'm just wondering if he can take one from a B+ level Welterweight (Cotto) or a A level Welterweight (Mayweather) I can be patient, just rather not have you patronizing me at every opportunity. Make your point and be done with it. :bart
Who are you referring too? I think Mayweather and Cotto both beat Manny Pacquiao and so I must hate the guy. I would pick Corrales to beat prime Barrera at 135lb. I must hate the guy. :bart
I am indeed referring to you and bill butcher as Pac haters. And you picking Mayweather and Cotto over him is not the only reason. Your stance on Pacquiao has been built over time and is quite clear, despite what you may claim.
I've always liked to see Pacquiao beat on the basis that his fan base are foolish individuals for most part. It's wishful thinking that perhaps if Manny's winning streak is derailed, posters like Soriano and Enzo might leave the forum completely and take up golf instead. On a serious note, you're clearly just overly sensitive about people not picking Pacquiao to win all of his fights. By my own admission, I have expressed dislike for the fighter in the distant past, but as a result of his last victory, I've done nothing but give the guy the respect he deserves. I don't think I've said anything in this thread that would suggest I hate Manny Pacquiao. I give my honest opinion on how I feel his future fights might transpire, and irrespective of whether I turn out to be right or wrong, these predictions are built on assessing each fighters strengths and weaknesses. Has nothing to do with liking one fighter more than the other. It seems as though even DINAMITA is suggesting I think Pacquiao is the same one dimensional fighter he was in 2003. I would like to think he has a higher opinion of me, and would take my word for it when I dispute his claim. Pacquiao is a great fighter, a better fighter than Miguel Cotto, but size does indeed play a factor in this physical sport. It would play a factor in both fights with Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather, in my estimation. Why is it such a big deal that I pick against him? If he proves me wrong, I'll be the first one eating crow. Simple as that.
and how you react as if beating those guys are impossible. if pac did not fought barrera, you will be the one to say barrera would smash pac to pieces.
Bill Butcher just acknowledges that Alexis Arguello has the style to beat Manny Pacquiao. Is that your problem with him, Puga?
no. the problem with him is that any ATG that was matched with pac, bill has a penchant to say pac would be ko'ed. i also have arguello the favorite at 130 but it would be a hard fight for him.
Nothing is impossible but IMO its just not very likely that Pacman wins the fights vs those guys mentioned, Arguello, Duran, Chavez, Mayweather etc. Ps. I did pick Barrera to beat Pac in fight 1, what a foolish, foolish thing to do, Im terribly sorry for picking the no1 ranked FWT to beat the no1 ranked SBWT, wtf was I thinking ? :nut Seriously, you guys need to chill & stop dick-riding Manny to the point were its a crime to pick another ATG to beat him.
At least we back up our predictions with reasoning. Funny thing is, they wouldn't have said a ****ing word had we just come in and said "PAC BY KTFO"
alexis at 130 is the best. beating all his contemporaries while the other just rack up ones from each other. alexis is a smart fighter and would probably figure out pac and wins a decision. of course this is all but fantasy and would not know what happens in a real fight between the two of them.
Fair enough. I just think with the two Marquez fights, Pacquiao showed he is most vulnerable against technically sound sharpshooters, and seldom has there been a better description for an Alexis Arguello. He hit harder than Marquez, and is much bigger physically the Marquez. That would see him over the line, in my opinion. Marquez's right hand was a force to be reckoned with in his second meeting with Manny, and I just happen to rate Alexis' right hand as perhaps the greatest in history. Straight as an arrow, known to spark fighters with a single shot, and it's speed is often underrated. His right hands were a blur against Pryor, and that was past his peak and at 140lb.
