He won't fight Cotto at 147 because he is scared.

    You are a pathetic nuthugger.

The fact he fought a shot DLH at 147 but will fight NOBODY else there tells me all I need to know.

The guy is making a mockery and cheapening the sport with all of his "catch weight" BS.

I can see arguments for either side here.

My vote is with Arguello right now, as I don't put much weight into the De La Hoya win for Pacquiao since De La Hoya was a skeleton of his former self. The Hatton win, however, was huge. If Pacquiao goes on to beat Cotto and Mayweather, he will be in my Top 5 of all-time.

He didn't get a lot of work done at 126lb either, not in comparison to Alexis anyhow. Same applies at 130lb and 135lb.

This post would've had sense if Arguello fought and won at 154.

Pac started at 112, he last won a title at 140, an additional 28 lbs. And he wants to fight guys at 147 and he's just asking for an inch. a catchweight at around 143.

Put that into perspective, it's like Arguello asking Marvin Hagler to fight at around 157. Doesn't sound stupid to me considering he can get murdered at middleweight.

    :lol::rofl

Murdered? You don't know Boxing history. Billy Conn fought Joe Louis weighing 166 pounds. He was not murdered. And Louis hit harder than Pac and Hagler combined.

This catch weight stuff is cheapening the sport and it is cheapening the REAL accomplishment of fighters that fought before them that were not scared to move up and fight without a catch weight because they were scared.

He didn't get the win over Juan Manuel Marquez, though.

He gets credit for demolishing Marco, the best 126lb at the time, but he only had three fights at Feather. Like I said, in comparison to Alexis who had significantly more.

What catchweight BS?! :nut He has never fought anyone at a catchweight. Once he has, you can whine and ***** about it if you want. Till then, **** up about it.

Did B-Hop make a mockery of the sport and cheapen it when he fought Winky at a catchweight?

Did Pavlik make a mockery of the sport and cheapen it when he fought Taylor at a catchweight?

Or is it Pacquiao who makes a mockery of the sport and cheapens it, through internet rumours of a catchweight??

Arguello simply has a deeper resume. And he didn't just pick up belts in several weights, he established dominance in those 3 divisions during a great era.

I'm a huge fan of both, but Arguello's above Pac for now. A few more big wins for Manny and that could change though.

And this is as good a time as any for the topic. Comparing two great fighters isn't in any way disrespectful to the recently deceased.

He must be scared of Asian fighters. He better not have a mirror in his house. PM Nallege and let him know that Pac isn't only terrified of blackness.

He is fighting Cotto at a catch weight nuthugger. It is a disgrace. And I hope Pac gets his block knocked off to shut his nuthuggers like you up. The guy won't fight anyone without all the advantages of trying to weight drain his competition.

It is a farce. If he wants to be a Welterweight beltholder he needs to fight and beat someone at a limit of 147 not 145, 144, or 143.

That is the bottom line for me.

Both great fighters, both spanned multiple weight divisions, but only Alexis consistently established dominance at 126, 130, and 135 respectively.

Pacquiao got some good work done at 130, and pretty much did everything he could of have at the time, but Alexis is generally regarded as the greatest Super Featherweight ever. Never lost at the weight, so even here Alexis' work was more impressive.
