Postol is a better win than that particular version of RJJ, and at worst on par with Lacy. Could say the same about Gamboa and depending on how the rest of his career progresses, Madrimov too.

Please, have you seen Calzaghe vs Robin Reid or Sakio Bika? That's more of his level. Guy was scared shitless after that Reid fight, decided to milk the WBO belt for a decade more, fighting the biggest crop of domestic level fighters you could think of.

Roy Jones suffered career ending knock outs within a 5 month time period in Antonio Tarver then against journeyman Glen Johnson in 2004, lose the rubbermatch to Tarver in 05, fight a couple of no hopers, then fought Calzaghe in 08 while bein unranked and haven't had a win against a ranked opponent in 5 years. After the Calzaghe fight Jones would go on a string of L's the following year, including getting KO'd by Danny Green, Lebedev and losing to Bernard Hopkins.

Canelo on the other hand was the undisputed 168 pound champion, p4p top 5 for over a decade and had just beat a ranked opponent to reclaim his IBF belt.

Canelo took a twelve round beating vs a much larger man and hasn't looked the same since just because he has a better chin than Roy

Canelo just lost to the better fighters, it's really as simple as that.

Don't listen to what these other guys say; this is an ethnic thing. Calzaghe's Italian heritage, it was an anti-Germanic thing like Robney has to go through in the lounge every day. Italians used to worship Mussolini. Mussolini failed to do the things that Hitler did. They've never forgiven the German man for coming off weaker next to them. And shorter. And hairier. In an unpleasant way. Not a cute kind of shorter and hairier, like a terrier.

Difference is Bud went up two weight classes for the fight. And closer to three weight classes considering he only fought once at 154 after leaving 147. Not to mention Canelo was the undisputed champion whereas Roy was trying to become champ again.

I thought BJS/Plant were Canelos last prime showings. Before the bone shattering counter right by Canelo, BJS was outboxing Canelo. That weakness always existed.

Roy had some KO losses, his power was gone, his gimmick was figured out, and perhaps his PED supply dried up...who knows? Canelo still beating Ryder, Munguia, and Berlangas who were all as good as or better than Glen Johnson who KOd Roy. Canelo not quite as fallen as Roy was.
