    What garbage.

We’re not rating the Canelo win now?

    Yet you’ll mention Eubank?

    Ha!

A guy who took the fight at 11 days notice.

A guy who hadn’t fought at SMW in 2 years, or had a win there in 3??

    GTFO!

Madramov was a tough stylistic match up for him.

    So what?

    Joe barely beat Robin Reid.

Back in the real world, Joe barely beat Robin Reid, either side of Reid’s losses to Malinga and Branco.

Roy wasn’t even a world level fighter at that point.

Madrimov was an 11 fight novice who had never beaten a single world class opponent before as a pro and was making a huge leap up in class, who despite it being Crawford's 4th weight class actually weighed slightly less than Crawford whilst being at a massive reach disadvantage, and even though he was the champ and Crawford the challenger he fought Crawford in his backyard with a home ref and 2 home judges, 1 neutral

Joe was an absolute injury-ravaged mess when he fought Reid, had only sparred 14 rounds in 2 years, and badly injured his hand in the 4th round IIRC which a reporter who attended the post-fight press conference described as "swollen grotesquely around the knuckles'' and he was schooling Reid prior to then, and he fought Reid in his country and was spat on and abused by Reid's fans during his ring walk. If Madrimov had landed a fraction of the flush bombs on Crawford as Reid did on Joe he would've 100% have put Crawford, who has barely fought any KO artists or legit bangers his size in his entire career, to sleep. Joe fought loads of big punchers, somehow Crawford barely fought any

Spence was always a soft-chinned hype job who, like Crawford, barely fought any KO artists or legit bangers his size, and forged a career cleaning out 147 of it's career 140s and 135 Mikey and only fought 2 career 147 champs in his entire career and he struggled badly against both

Everyone knows that you get a free pass for taking PEDs, fighting weak opposition, and never travelling if you have the right passport and others who don't get absolutely crucified for it. Crawford's resume is weak and he would receive way more criticism for that if he wasn't from the US

''Ricky Burns and Victor Postol''

Huh ? Madrimov landed several right hands what are you talking about.... This is the very reason you thought the fight was so close, power punches landed

I didn't say he didn't land any right hands. I know full well he did.

    I said

''If Madrimov had landed a fraction of the flush bombs on Crawford as Reid did on Joe ''

''Flush bombs'' meaning if he landed with the kind of full power KO or KD bombs that Reid did on Calzaghe, many in quick succession in certain rounds.

Many of these are KO shots, some HL reel ones, let alone KD shots and that's from the fighter Froch says is the hardest puncher he ever fought

Madrimov wasn't catching Crawford with his best KO shots like this and if he did Crawford would've been KTFO

Crawford was very wary of Madrimov's power, Joe wasn't wary of Reid's at all despite eating loads of big or massive right hand bombs

    That's what I'm talking about

But that's because Crawford is a better defensive fighter than Calzaghe which is a positive not a negative.

Calzaghe's issue was sometimes he was too overly aggressive and would square up and get caught.

The Kabary Salem knockdown was a pretty heavy one and Salem wasn't noted as a puncher.

As for Froch claiming Reid was the hardest puncher he fought ? I think that's Froch telling porkies as some fighters often do they big up the fighters they beat but not the fighters who beat them or knocked them down.

Froch fought a totally past it Reid and it was a one sided fight hence I call BS on that from Froch.

Froch got hurt the most from Groves he dropped Froch like a sack of potatoes and Froch barely made it out of the 1st round.

Alleged 135 pounder Crawford has a longer reach than career 168/175 Calzaghe and Crawford was a massive weight bully who was rehydrating more in his 4th division than Calzaghe was in his 1st one and very likely more in his 6th one too

Crawford was very often the much or bigger man in the ring and very often had a huge or big reach advantage. In fact, he was never at a reach disadvantage in his entire career and his reach was a huge part of his defence. I don't think he was necessarily more skilled defensively than Calzaghe he just had the huge advantage of a freakish 74'' reach which enabled him to fight at a range outside of his opponent's one and he barely fought any KO artists or legit punchers, especially ones his size, so even when he did get caught clean it wasn't as noticeable as when Joe did. However, when Joe wanted to be slick and box he was good defensively.

I've always found it comical how people try to act like he was just some fast-handed high volume guy with a great engine who was devoid of skill. They haven't got a clue what they're talking about. He was very skilled and physically blessed and versatile too

I'm aware of all the KDs Calzaghe suffered in his career. I'm also aware of how many punchers he fought, how often he fought aggressively and went to war, how his defence didn't consist of holding like an octopus and running, and how plagued he was by injuries throughout his career and the problems in his personal life and certain points in his career all of which manifested in the ring, including, as you say him being overly aggressive and reckless which stemmed from being overeager and frustrated due to said injuries and problems. But anyone who actually followed his career will know he had an excellent chin in his prime and his chin was clearly not the same as it once was when he fought Roy and B-Hop due to all the wars he'd been in with big punchers and punishment he'd taken throughout his career but obviously given how he doesn't have the right passport that gets completely ignored by so many.

Here's one of the 2 KDs he suffered in his prime. After getting dropped by a huge shot in an exchange and yes he was actually hurt for that KD he jumps right back up and stands toe to toe and trades with Mitchell and quickly drops Mitchell seconds later. That's the kind of mentality he had and obviously if you have that kind of mentality and enjoy a tear up and fight lots of punchers, especially ones your size, you're putting yourself at much greater risk of getting hurt, dropped and KTFO than fighters who do not have that kind of mentality who are afraid of getting hit. Crawford was literally on his bicycle all night vs Pitty Pat Postol stinking out the joint against an opponent who could almost match him for reach and fight him at the same range

Did you watch the videos I posted? No one who does so can dispute prime Joe's chin and that was just 2 fights. That excellent chin was on display in many of his fights. There isn't any ambiguity about it at all Calzaghe had an excellent chin in his prime and we saw that on display in many of his fights.

Reid was a noted banger and I don't think Froch was BS-ing at all when he said that.

Is Tony Dodson who sparred Reid lying too?

''Froch does hit hard but again not the hardest puncher I've been in with ROBIN REID hit harder when he was in his prime.''

    --Tony Dodson

What about this leads you to believe Froch is lying here?

    Carl Froch Best I Faced:

    BEST PUNCHER

''Robin Reid: He hurt me the most with a single shot. I can’t say George Groves because he caught me square on in the first fight, when I left my feet behind me. That was a heavy knockdown made worse by my balance being off. Also, after his fast start dwindled, I came on strong, so I can’t say Groves. I remember Reid hitting me and saying, ‘beeping hell, that hurt.’ Jermain Taylor had me down, but that was more of a sharp shot. Robin Reid could really bang, and in my opinion he deserved the win over Joe Calzaghe in their fight. That said, Calzaghe had to be tough to walk through the right hands he took from Reid.''

Woodhall and Kessler both praising Joe's chin and anyone who watches those fights will see that excellent chin on display yet again. Woodhall wasn't a big puncher but he certainly had respectable power and he caught Joe flush often with his best shots and Joe just walked through them all

    Richie Woodhall

    BEST CHIN

''Calzaghe: He was a tough geezer. I wasn’t a devastating puncher; I was more of a worker, and that showed against Calzaghe. I hit him many times but nothing affected him''

    Mikkel Kessler

''Joe was also awkward and effective. And he could take a punch. I would say I hit Joe with some of my hardest shots ever and he took them. Carl is more a hard hitter but he’s slow. But Carl doesn’t respect anything. Even if you hit him really hard he will still come forward''

Reid might have been shot and his chin no longer what it once was when he fought Froch but he was the same age as Joe was when he fought Roy and B-Hop when according to many Joe's chin was still prime and hadn't become less sturdy due to all the wars he'd been in and punishment he took

Power is the last thing to go and Reid could still hit.

Groves clearly hurt Froch the most but that doesn't mean he was the hardest puncher Froch fought and Froch was 36 in that fight and he'd been in a lot of wars and taking loads of punishment too. But as I said earlier, certain fighters or fighters who don't have the right passport are immune to the ageing process and the wear and tear despite them being in loads of wars and taking lots of punishment, way more than certain other fighters who have the right ones whose chins are deemed shot to bits at the same age or younger despite them rarely getting hit or being in any wars or facing many punchers

Yes but Serge you know as well as I do most boxers have massive egos and tell porkies often about who hit them hardest.

And I don't believe a shot Robin Reid who got beat down in 5 one sided rounds was the hardest puncher Froch fought.

Not only was a shot Robin Reid no longer a world class opponent he never really hit Froch with anything of substance that even remotely troubled him.

So like i said I'm going to call BS on that from Froch.

As for Reid's power overall ? I don't remember his power being that much of a stand out attribute at world level in all honesty.

Reid has 1 notable stoppage against Vincenzo Nardiello but Nardiello got stopped in all of his 7 losses.

Both Crawford and Calzaghe had the talent to do more.

Neither one fulfilled their full potential.

Coincidently, both appeared to be satsified with holding the WBO belt for long periods without any urgency to fight other beltholders.

Joe Calzaghe is the most overrated fighter ever on this forum

The fact that its even a debate thats this close in the polls shows this

Canelo would be undefeated if he had Calzaghes opponents and hed probably win more easily vs most
