Without hesitation its Arguello for me.

People put to much stock in Arguello's losses to Aaron Pryor.
For some reason they put blinders on and refuse to accept FACT, Aaron Pryor cheated to beat Arguello.

To me Arguello is a 4 time Champion in 4 different weight classes. The first in history to ever accomplish that feat.

Hearns was a freak physical specimen and he used those to his advantage. Arguello imo was a better boxer and a better thinker in the ring, as well his chin and stamina were eons above that of Hearns.

Hearns deficiencies made him alot more vulnerable in a ring.

If I remember correctly, most boxing magazines over the years rank Arguello ahead of Hearns.

To see Hearns leading this poll by such a margin is laughable and indicative of the fact that most of you voting dont know all that much and certainly never lived the Arguello era.

Let me say this, Erik Morales is a recent fighter that I'd say reminded me some of Arguello. Tall with a reach, that could both box and brawl. Niether relied on quickness and speed.
    Their styles were similar.
A boxing fan that lived both era's would correctly say Erik Morales was a poor man's version of Alexis Arguello.

Understand now the greatness of Alexis Arguello!!!!

I've never bothered to rank a top 10, but really, Hearns in a top 10???
To me Hearns was simply to vulnerable to include in a top 10.
Certainly offensively Hearns was great, but its alot more than just about offense in a boxing match.

Arguello is a 4-time champion in 4 different weight classes? Says who?

The plain, sorry, embarrassing fact is that Arguello never defeated the true divisional champion or the next best contender when he was ranked #1 or #2 in the division by The Ring.

--He didn't know who to shoot at and so went after WBS belts because boxing was and remains a fine mess.
