10 title defenses and legit at this weight is not better than Canelo having to weigh in 152, which to me was a crackpot move by Floyd for any advantage.

Hearns in his 30s was different than Floyd in his 30s.. He had tougher fights. He came to fight. Giving up a ton of weight? Hearns started at 147 and he fought Hill at 175. Don't make arguments like it is 2012? What does that mean? Floyd resume was always the same. Guys who were good but fighting them at the right time-far out their era of when they were good. He was an expert at that. His career should have astericks on the guys he fought.

It isn't that Floyd does not compare to Tommy well, he does not compare to any of the greats who fought guys when they were still great. His handpicking and timing takes him away from most of that top ATG fighter. He would have been good head to head against some greats, but he is not great than them-and he didn't fight them. He didn't want to be the fighter they did, but he did have a great undefeated record. That gives him something. Floyd's whole claim to fame was preserving that record so he could stand on that. So that is what he has. But it is not enough to put him over legit greats who had great fights. Those iconic fights add to people's legacies win or lose.

TBE was just marketing. Nobody old enough to shave took that seriously.

    Pipino Cuevas
    Ray Leonard
    Marvin Hagler
    Wilfredo Benitez
Cuevas was a long reigning respected and feared champion going into his bout with Hearns. Benitez was at or near the peak of his powers in his fight with Tommy. Then you have Duran who certainly slipped from his lofty peak. It's all relative. He was still in the very good category.

In my honest view, the Hill win is better. Floyd has tremendous longevity and the undeated record which has depth no question. But I would say that Hearms has the better single top notch wins. Both are close in terms of legacy in my opinion.

Canelo is another perfectly managed fighter. A marketing product. He gets all the decisions and fights fighters at the right time. Floyd completely schooled him. I think prime Hill or Hearns defeat canelo decisively.

You can believe that, but it isn’t gonna be the view that holds with time. At one time, people thought Dempsey was better than Ali. I am 100% sure that nobody is going to be saying a win over Hill is better than Canelo in15 years. Canelo is pfp 1 and the biggest draw in boxing today.

Not even totally sure Hill made a pfp list, maybe lower half.

Ah so we put an asterixs next to Floyd's victories above bets weights or at the end of their career, but not Hearns?

That's an absolutely outstanding win. No one can ever criticise it.

Everyone who’s chosen Hearns hates Floyd?

Fab 4 nostalgia + Floyd denial. Hearns doesn’t even have the resume of Jones.

The only thing we have to deal with is your complete lack of knowledge.

Canelo’s wins at 155 and below were better than Hill’s best wins?

    Haha!

    Okay.

Hill beat Fabrice Tiozzo, as well as Henry Maske in Germany.

Compared to Cotto, Lara, and Trout. Tiozzo and Maske ain’t ahead of them, chief.
