    All I know is, by the end of this thread, we will all learn, as usual, that neither of these fighters were anything special and only had impressive achievements because of sheer, dumbass luck, making the impressive achievements pretty unimpressive.

    Its not even close, Calzaghe is miles ahead of Wright.
    Calzaghe's achievements are fantastic compared to Wright.

    And here's a form line for head to head {not that anybody is going to beat Calzaghe head to head} Hopkins beat Wright 117-111, 117-111, 116-112 in Hopkins very next fight Hopkins loses to Joe Calzaghe 111-116, 112-115, 114-113. Says it all really.

    its easy to say it is calzaghe but people shouldnt trivialize how good winky was in the process.

    Winky Wright all day every day.

    By my own cards, Winky's best wins are (not in order):

    Tito
    Mosley 1
    Mosley 2
    Vargas (undefeated)
    J Taylor (undefeated)

    That top five absolutely shames Calzaghe's top 5.

    Also, the lightmiddleweight Winky was a more complete, more effective, technically superior and all-round better fighter than the best supermiddleweight Calzaghe.

    Winky dominated good versions of Trinidad and Mosley - that's far superior to anything Calzaghe ever did. The only time Joe fought opposition of that calibre (a past-prime Hopkins) he struggled woefully.


    Seriously, the poll score and the consensus is wrong on this one. Objectively, Winky was a better and greater fighter.
