ATG: Who Ranks Higher? Wright or Tszyu?

Kostya is definitely better b/c of his record, his style, and speed. He also beat Judah quickly and made him look like an idiot. At the age of 39 he barely lost to Hatton.

Winky has the better resume and is underrated because of his style. Wright.

Mosley is a much smaller guy and while he had serious power at 135 and even 147, he had no effect on Wright at 154.

The wins for Wright are both good over Mosley but were nothing spectacular, given the relative sizes of the two men.

Again, regarding Trinidad at 160, this is not Tito's best weight.

He has no great wins here.

An ageing Joppy and a blown-up, skill-challenged Mayorga.




Winky's draw with Taylor was better than his wins over Mosley.


Tszyu had a very good career, if you ignore his one off-night with Philips. But he doesn't have enough big names to rank as an ATG.

You could make a case for either guy.

Both good.

Neither great.

Both good to watch.


(I've seen numerous posts decrying Winkie's style and the term 'boring
tossed around. All I can say is some folks don't appreciate boxing craftmanship.)

 

Wright is a 8.5 all time, Tszyu is a 7.5 on the greatness meter.

 

Tyzu,,,he was great boxer an well as a ATG puncher,,,,his quiting on the stool, was alot to do with he was fighting the ref an the fighter, plus he took a wicked punch to balls previous round,,besides that he fought the top guys around an beat them down,,,winky, to me greatest victory was mosley, a fighter tyzu could not get in the ring,,,tzyu was also a great amuture fighter, more then likly the best to come out of the USSR, that says alot, he beat forest ass. Like winky, great defensive fighter,

 

Tyzu did nothing to be called a ATG. I don't see any great victories except Judah. Maybe?

Kostya Tszyu unified his division, took on a higher class of opponent at his weight and I believe outperformed Winky generally.

That said my Tszyu bias I wear on my sleeve.

Historically I would rank KT over Winky.

Exciting fight wise - Kostya is about 3209847932875098432 times more fun to watch.

 

atsch Are you outta of your mind? Winky clearly has faced the superior opposition hands down not even up for debate. Seems like too me you think exciting means you're automatically better. You couldn't be more wrong.

 

I can't believe how many people are picking Tszyu. Wright's two wins over Mosley alone are probably better than anything Kostya achieved.

 

Resume wise Winky... But overall I go with Tszyu.... In terms of ability, Tszyu shits all over stinky wright..

What's just as surprising is that we forget Tszyu was KTFO in his prime by a older C class fighter.
