I think Hopkins and I think it will be quite a few years before what this guy has achieved is totally appreciated....

Talent - Roy Jones by a long way

    Career - Hopkins.

Its sad , but in time Roy will be forgotten.

I think RJJ is higher than Hopkins but both are all time greats.

Once upon a time I (and probably everyone else) would have picked RJJ, quite easily. But over the last 5 years or so, as RJJ gets prone to being KO'd and Hopkins just keeps on winning, I think Hopkins has at least pulled even with RJJ and is on the verge of overtaking him. Both have had great careers, with RJJ being the more naturally gifted, and Hopkins working his butt off to appear ageless. One of the deciding factors for me anyway, is that Hopkin has moved out of the middleweight division and is fighting at the higher weights, and in most cases winning.

I would question the talent part - Hopkins has the talent to still be competetive at the highest level at 45 years old - No one can do that without an extra ordinary talent

I give Roy the nod by the smallest of margins. If Hopkins is to beat Jean Pascal to again become a World Champion, that would all but change.

Dont get me wrong Crippet, Hopkins is a truely amazing athlete, and shows what happens when natural talent and focus meet, but there was a time , somewhere around 1997 / 98 that Jones was doing things in the ring I had never seen. That includes Leonard, Benitez, Robinson and Louis.

    I vote for Hopkins.
No reason, except Roy's PPV's sucked.

    Jones for me, no doubt.

Since Roy's career fell off a cliff, his reputation and all-time standing have taken a pounding. Hopkins has gotten better with age and his reputation has only increased.

When taking a step back and looking at their careers objectively, I think Roy comes out ahead.
