    As the title says

Which ATGS got up off the floor to win a fight, and how many times did they do it

    Tyson = 0
    Lewis = 0

Floyd Patterson did it every Saturday night and every other Wednesday.

Ali did it twice on his way up. (Banks and Cooper)
Dempsey did it against Firpo. And on his way up in more than one fight, I think.
Holmes did it - against Kevin Isaac, Earnie Shavers, Renaldo Snipes.
Holyfield did it - against Bert Cooper.
Bowe did it - against Holyfield.
Foreman did it - against Lyle.
Frazier did it - against Mike Bruce, Oscar Bonavena.
Liston did it - on his way up against Marty Marshall.
Joe Louis - against Braddock, Galento, Buddy Baer, Walcott
Tunney did it - against Dempsey
Wladimir Klitschko did it - against Sam Peter, DeVaryl Williams, and someone else.
Marciano - against Walcott and Moore.

    That's just heavyweights.

    Ray Leonard.
    Archie Moore.
    Ezzard Charles.
    Willie Pep.
    Benny Leonard.
    Sam Langford.

    etc. etc. etc.

OMG Dempsey showed ATG Heart when he got knockedown through teh ropes by crude flabby caveman weightlifting Firpo, And was helped by a Journalist to climb back through teh ropes And continue after being down for only 14 seconds - what a WARRIOR!!

I was referring to heavys mainly...
WK is right at the bottom of my ATG list and hes only on there because hes dominated his era
Most of those who got up, i think were felled by one punch if im not mistaken...??

He's hard to gauge because he's still active but he's probably about the same as Lennox Lewis, IMO.
Yeah, I'd put several others in front of them.

    Probably, mostly.

Thats the difference then between Tyson and most of the rest, they were felled by one punch whereas he took everything and the kitchen sink before going down.

Flip the script, if the above named heavys took the punishment Tyson did, would they still get up and win the fight?

WK does not belong in the same sentence as Lewis...and im not a Lewis fan

Loughran after getting decked twice in the first vs Leo Lomski...Nicolino Locche was decked in the first (or third) vs Carlos Hernandez...he got up to deck Carlos twice in the fight enroute to winning a 15 round decision. Eder Jofre was decked by Jose Legra early in their 15 rounder that he won the featherweight title in. Ruben Olivares was floored in both of his winning encounters with Chucho Castillo.

Tyson went down from a single punch against Holyfield, and got up and went on to lose.

I don't know. Some of them took a lot of punishment in some of their wins, no doubt.

But the idea is to WIN the fight.
The idea isn't to take loads of punishment.

I don't see why not, to be honest.
Lewis wasn't rated highly when he was fighting either - now I think he's become overrated.

Did Lewis and Tyson realistically have a chance to get up and continue?

Bob Foster was decked briefly by Frankie DePaula before putting Frankie on the deck in return three times to get a 1 round tko.

Tyson did get up and continue.

Lewis got up and wasn't allowed to continue.

Recently, Martinez got up from a kd to beat Pavlik for the middleweight title.
Back in 1973 Arnold Taylor was decked 3 or 4 times and nearly ko'ed before destroying Romeo Anaya to win the bantamweight title.
Eckard Dagge was floored early on by Elisha Obed before coming on to tko Obed to win the supermiddle title back in the 70's.

I meant against Douglas. Tyson got up and then looked for a way out of the fight against Holyfield.

Yes, the idea is to win, but getting up after a sustained 10-11 round beating is going to be much more difficult than getting up after a one punch Knockdown

Lewis HAS slightly become overrated. However he still fought and beat much better names than Wlad Klit. The best 2 names he has was an old man (Tyson) and a former CW (Holyfield) who he struggled with twice.
Tyson also had an Old man in Holmes and a former LHW...but he convincingly KTBTFO. (Knocked Them Both, The **** Out)

The Holyfield punch was more of a balance thing than anything else. But hey he still got up and fought back...something which is swept under the carpet around here.

Left Hook your right, Tyson had no chance of winning after the beatings he took, but Lewis?????
