There are too many contentious and controversial results in his favor for him to be an all time great.

Brewer, Markussen, Mitchell, Johnson, Starie and L****n all could claim to have done enough to deserve the win, Tate lost out on the win because the cuts that stopped the fight weren't ruled to have been caused by a punch when arguably they were, and Ried was undeniable and shamelessly robbed of a victory.

And then there's the fact that he failed to make the unification fight with Calzaghe when it was the biggest Super Middelweight showdown of the time and would have legitimized the winner as the greatest in the division.

Ottke's resumes is just not impressive when scrutinized.
