don’t leave out styles or the fact that Frazier was visibly imparted in one eye most of his career … a huge handicap, for a small swarmer.

Frazier had a very solid chin; he got hit a lot and basically ate most of them. Bonavena hurt him and he could punch pretty good. Ali hit him a million times and many on this forum will argue that Ali was very strong and hit much harder than people thought.
Keep in mind, when Frazier got bounced around by Foreman, he had already eaten a ton of punches. I figure that the first Ali fight took a ton out of Frazier.

Frazier was stopped by Foreman because he bent at the waist, uppercuts were going to find him eventually, his chin was worn to the nub from years of fighting and getting hit frequently… he let himself be overwhelmed because he just knew how to press in - his chin was fine he wasn’t even KO’d… against Jumbo Cummings he was sturdy and that was a big 80s roided out HW with at the least some power.

At the least Jumbo Cummings could punch a bit he was a big juiced up monster and he hit Frazier while he was shot, sturdy as ever from memory - Jumbo wasn’t any good but he could punch, so could Quarry and Ellis…

Frazier's chin was fine. Six of the knockdowns against him were by Foreman in the same fight. There is no shame in that, and when you factor that out, the rest is pretty good. No shame in Bonavena putting you on your ass, especially when you get up and win.

i agree that frazier didn't have a weak chin but evander seems an odd pick amongst the people with weaker chins than him.

Doubtful anybody could have taken flush hits from Foreman and shrugged it off aside from maybe the fighters who never got dropped once in their career. Considering Frazier got up immediately every time he was dropped and was never counted out that’s far from being chinny.

How so? Liston slugged it out with Cleveland Williams who Foreman saw as a top 3 hardest hitter he ever saw. I doubt Frazier would have been able to endure the punishment that Liston walked away from.

Liston didn’t walk away from Ali? Instead Frazier took it to him like a man on fire - Williams almost had him out by his account, that’s why he rushed his work and KO’d Williams, I don’t think it’s impressive personally… Frazier fought Quarry, Ellis, Ali, Bonavena and all those guys could punch a bit, Frazier got hit A LOT which sort of is a plus in a discussion about chins lol.
