Quite a lot of professional RUGBY LEAGUE players would have been good boxers. The sport demands a great deal of courage to play so heart is no problem. Rugby League players are among the fittest athletes in the world so dedication is there. Rugby League players are also etreme all round athletes so they have speed, agility, size , strength and aerobic levels that are beyond those of many other sports. Intensity is something that Rugby League players have to endure for a straight 80 minutes of every game without a let up. Rugby League tackles have been dscribed as having simular forces involved as do car crashes so a high tollerance to pain is pre requisite for Rugby League. Most of all Rugby League is a team sport that draws its players from the same social backgrounds as Boxing does. The players are from tough backgrounds and cowards don't make it through the system to the top of the game. Rugby League is to team sports what Boxing is to the individual = Gladiators Only Please!
