In a way he actually does because multiple times Teddy talks about the deceptive records of Colombian boxers who usually get a reality check once they cross the border. Well why doesnt this humanitarian do something about it. He admits they have raw talent but does he not realize that this war torn country could use more of his assistance instead of his dismissiveness?atsch Not to mention all the robberies they get here. Just listen to Tessitore after Demers makes just a slightest come come back "its a turn around here"atsch
looks like you spoke too soon. Next time think twice before you hate. Judges in Montreal are very fair. Even in last night's fight, a win for Demers would not have been a robbery, but they still gave it to Miranda. Its called being objective.
Atlas scored it for Demers last night and even more so for Lacey Monday night even though the Colombians where landing the more telling blows. Teddy's/Tessitore's fixation on geographical superiority (fighters from such & such a place have always/never...bla bla bla) actually exposes their own insensitivity here. Atlas constantly admits that although there is a lot of raw talent in Colombia, their boxing records are not reflective of their true experience. IMOP ESPN is obviously abusing Colombian boxing records (relative of a small war torn country) in a desperate attempt to boost their dwindling ratings. Hmm I see you didnt really defend the Colombian Zuniga yesterday either. Has your hate made you insensitive?:-(
The right thing happened then, if Atlas scored it for Demers that means that Miranda was going to win and he did. Remember always go for the opposite of whatever Atlas says.
Its common knowledge that Atlas roots for the American first (probably got him that Olympics spot) but my main issue here is their own hypocritical abuse of boxing records
I do like Atlas kind of like I love that tough old varmint James Toney but a lot of the crap they say makes me gag to
Atlas likes putting his own fighters, like Elvis Muriqi, in mismatches to pad their records. Then when there's a mismatch on ESPN, the 'conscience' of boxing cries "oh no, what a mismatch!! Boxing needs a national commission!!"
What the hell are you talking about? Since when does Teddy Atlas have anything to do with which matches are made? And since when is Colombia a "small war-torn country"? Colombia ain't a rich country. Colombia produces some pretty good fighters. Matchmakers (who have NOTHING to do with Teddy Atlas, and little to do with ESPN) make the matches, and sometimes import Colombian fighters because they have good looking records and don't cost too much to bring up. However, the Colombian fighters are SIGNIFICANTLY more dangerous than, say, Argentinian fighters (or even midwestern fighters) with padded records. The fact that guys like Miranda, Zuniga, Angulo, Canchila, etc. were able to pull off upsets is a testament to this. Quit your bitching. If it wasn't for matchmakers trying to set up this kind of fight, they'd never get a shot. In fact, Atlas has confronted ESPN in the past about making too many mismatches, and he got suspended for it. http://www.boxing scene .com/?m=show&id=12295 Take out the spaces
