As a Mayweather fan I would say Pac is #1 b/c of his streak of beating the **** out of people. He has been active and exciting. Mayweather needs to beat up JMM and show superior boxing skill then he can make a case. But other than that they both have to do us fans a favor and meet up for a showdown of two great fighters.
The meaning of P4P has been highjacked. It USED to mean: If all fighters were the same size..who would be the best. That's what it USED to to mean. Now it's more of a popularity contest...where the contestants are judged by their RESUMES or who the announcers favor. If all fighters where the same size, Manny sure as hell would be the best:deal
It's more prolific use is also a side effect of the proliferation of titles. People like to have someone who they can look upon as being the best.
Pacquiao should remain on the top of the p4p list until Mayweather at least fights again.... but yes, Floyd is a better fighter than Pacquiao, a blind man with a limp can see that ****.
Ok but he also has more boxing ability than Henry Armstrong do you also think hes better than Homicide Hank?
No. Henry is a top 5 ATG tho & likely the best pressure fighter ever, Pac aint there yet & likely wont get there. I think Pac has Mayweather on resume & achievements but I feel Mayweather has more ability. Id personally have Pac as my no1 p4p, everything considered, Mayweather will probably need a victory over Mosely, Williams or Pac himself to regain the no1 spot. :good
all pacquiao did was temporarily hold the mythical p4p title while mayweather jr. took a little vacation. now that floyd jr. is back we all know he's the best fighter on earth and the superior fighter of the two. i have a question, is pacquiao the only #1 p4per given the title without earning it because of a retirement? besides, #1 p4pers are supposed to fight their opponents without making them fight at catchweights. i don't recall any other #1 p4per ever making these ridiculous demands. julio cesar chavez sr. NEVER made any concessions like this throughout his all-time record 27 world title defenses!
Couldn't agree more, but I'm not too confident that us fans will be fortunate to see Mayweather-Pacquiao? I mean, to start with both camps can expect long & hard-bargain negotiations. If Roach, Pacquiao think Floyd will be persuaded to take less than a 50-50 split, I'm afraid they are very much mistaken! 50-50 split is fair to all those concerned, so there really is no argument left in terms of who receives what & how much? If, after six months of 2010 a deal is not agree, us fans need to take some action - start a petition, write to Bob Arum, Mayweather promotions, put adverts in Boxing Magazines demading the bout, etc. LOL we, us fans, deserve this match! :bbb
Your gonna get pulled for this so it may as well be by me rather than a pacfuc..... Chavez-Whitaker was at a catchweight of 145 lbs. :good
