help me to understand this....Atlas was selected by Povetkin team to train him-no to manage his career-the ones in charge of picking his fights and opponents are suppouse to be his promoter and team... how come Atlas gets all the blame?...are they using Atlas as the scapegoat?

Oh his team gets most of the blame in my book. It was a stupid move to bring him on board in the first place, and a good number of people (myself included) called it as soon as it happened. Atlas hasn't done anything besides be Teddy Atlas. He was the same overrated trainer when they hired him as he was before and as he's turned out to still be. Why any world-class guy would seek him out on the brink of a title shot is well beyond my comprehension.

Atlas probably would've convinced him that sparring with Kimbo Slice in a meat locker was the key to beating the "soft" Klitschkos. It was only a matter of time before Teddy was turning his metaphors into actual training regimens. I can only imagine how "swim without getting wet" and "barbecue yourself without getting hot" would've went.

Does Atlas' stupid metaphor's even trainslate well into Russian? A foreign fighter with limited English would have a Hell of a time getting his messages.

"Swim without getting wet" Would seem strange to a native Russian speaker. A certain level of cultural grounding is essential with speech of this nature.

This entire Povetkin - Atlas arrangement is suspicious. IMO Saurland only accepted Atlas because they envisioned him as a good mouthpiece and promoter for them in the US. In reality, the two sides despise one another (both in terms of personalities as well as boxing vision and tactics), however, Saurland have Sasha´s ear all the time so guess who will be left out the cold when the dust settles. This whole arrangement was dysfunctional from the start and Povetkin has clearly regressed as a fighter as a result.

No news since yesterday from either side. I wonder who can replace ******* Ted if fight goes on as planned and he is still claiming it's their fault, he HAS to be ESPN's broadcaster, no one else is capable.

Would they bring in old trainer, and would he want the job after being dumped? Bring in a big name? Or cancel fight?

Povetkin doesn't even need a trainer at this point to beat Chagaev.
The only top fighter that was scared of him was Haye.....Easy win for Alexander...

I would prefer Atlas gave us all a break from ESPN for a few weeks. He's old and getting stale.A new face and voice would be refreshing.

Nothing mentioned of it on ESPN tonight, no mention of anything to do with upcoming bout
regarding Atlas. Since he said it, no news thatI've seen except that interview. ESPN should have mentioned it, since Atlas now calls self a "Journalist" They must be negotiating something.
