Eh. It was probably for publicity purposes as much as anything. Povetkin will get a bunch of free plugs on FNF this way, and Atlas will probably keep yapping about Povetkin for the next 3 or 4 years.

A pure business move! Povetkin has an excellent coach, and an old dog like him wont learn a lot of new tricks anyway!

Atlas is a known face on American tv.Anything that helps to sell Povetkin vs Wlad over there is good for Povetkin's management and his pocket.
I wonder why Povetkin doesnt want to train under his promoter's headcoach Wegner. The grumpy and authorian German coach is one of the best trainers in the paid ranks on this tiny planet. AA and many other fighters have blown his trumpet very loudly over the years.A far better coach than Atlas in my opinion!

I don't understand the Atlas hate. He spent quite a few years learning und D'Amato and helped train Tyson until they fell out. He got about as much out of Moorer as anyone could have. Read his autobiography and you'll come to respect him more.

Audley was more concerned with making money than going the traditional Lonsdale route of becoming HW champ. But Audley did do the great part of being a businessman and make good money, too bad he was a better businessman than he was a fighter.
