Whitaker, in my mind, deserved the benifit against Oscar De la Hoya, Julio Cesar Chavez, and Jose Luis Ramirez in their first fight. Glen Johnson also comes to mind.
Glen Johnson got robbed pretty often, so did Emanuel Augustus. Robin Reid got SEVERELY robbed by Sven Ottke
Rocchigiani, by a wide margin: 1. Robbed against Eubank (in his hometown Berlin, for those who always say that foreign fighters are robbed in Germany). Everybody, including Eubank's corner had Rocky winning 2. Robbed against Maske in their first fight. The ref even helped Maske up from a knockdown he rules a slip in the 12th 3. Robbed against DM in their first fight by an incompetent ref Rocky was clearly winning. 4. Stripped by the WBC of his title he won against Nunn.
Exactly one Ottke fights was a clear robbery, two more were very close. He clearly beat some good fighters and some mediocre ones.
How was Taylor robbed? Dude got blasted. Sweet Pea was robbed against Chavez. I had it 8 to 4 maybe 7 to 5. Chavez was my idol but he lost that fight. Though sweet pea didnt do **** but he did less.
Rosenbloom or some old-time fighter was probably robbed the most. look at how often they fought. Fight 200, 300 times, you're more likely to suffer bad decisions. As for the worst single robbery ever, the first fight between Juan Coggi and Eder Gonzalez was a worse robbery than any other fight named above.
As much as I sympathize with Hagler for his tough road to the top, he wasn't robbed against SRL. Leonard was the smarter man that night, it was a close fight, but it terms of ring generalship, Leonard made Hagler box much of the fight. Halger just wasn't able to turn it into a brawl. Of course Hagler said he was never hurt by Leonard's pitty pat punches but then why did he back up from Leonard's flurries so often? Whenever he had Leonard on the ropes and it looked like he could finally rough him up, Leonard flurried and stepped out of danger. I believe Hagler felt he was entitled to win this fight after all the games Leonard had played with him years before, but he didn't force his kind of fight on Leonard enough.
