In the long term I think Groves is the better prospect......... but Degale will squeeze out an SD this time round.

Don't really get the "ATT George Groves Fans" thing. Being a fan doesn't automatically mean I think he'll beat Degale. Think Degale stops him mid-late but I hope I'm wrong!

I don't believe the 'Degale getting too much credit' argument. Carl Dilks was suppose to be a stern test, and Degale knocked him out in the first. Say what u want about the stoppage, Dilks didn't complain once.

Then Smith was suppose to be a good challenge. On this board the week before, people were asking if it was too soon for Degale to take on a veteran, if not slightly limited, domestic champion. Degale goes into the champions hostile home town, and wins every minute of every round against him.

By contrast, Groves has looked poor in America, and was almost stopped by kenny Anderson in the third. I can't see anything other than a Degale points win, unless Booth pulls groves out in the later rounds.

bollocks to the smith win smith is the shits imo.....

anyone who knows anything about boxing can clearly see de gale is special......

he either completly schools groves and wins on a wide points verdict, gets a stoppage, or wins by a k.o......

groves does not even have a punchers chance.

DeGale makes so many mistakes and does so much wrong its unreal. Anyone with power and heart has a shot to beat him.

To be honest I'm getting a bit fed up with the press playing up the 'animosity' angle, like that is a guarantee of a good fight?

Gatti v Ward and Vasquez v Marquez didn't have that animosity and those fights were fantastic, they seem to be hyping the fight as being a great war purely on the basis of this supposed 'hatred' between the two fighters.

Setting expectation levels almost too high methinks

hes a 10 fight pro mate.....

craic is he can make mistakes an get away with them at this stage cos th class of oponents the is facing are below his level and he can pretty much do what he wants at this stage......

as he steps up he can get his defence tighter, watch his shoulder and chin block/gaurd technique when he needs to use it....

he will step up his tool colection when he needs to raise his ratio.....

groves is not a step up, groves is not much better than smith.

keys things for Groves: his power and his body shots.

if he can get in close enough or get DeGale to stand in front of him long to hurt him or slow him down then this **** gets interesting.

DeGale will be on the move all night so Groves has to slow him down, DeGale will be throwing those slappy looking punches and try and roll with the punches coming his way.

Groves has to get DeGale's respect early I think as well.

Yeah I agree with this. DeGale v Groves is a good matchup for boxing fans, but it probably won't be a great fight. They might both be unbeaten and good prospects, but their styles won't match to produce an all out war as they seem to be hyping. 'This is It' is stupid. This isn't anything.

I know you've got to sell fights but this is yet again going to disappoint anyone who has a casual interest due to the hype created.

Well i thought Kenny Anderson was very underated going into his fight with Groves and it wasnt a suprise to see Groves struggle in that one, but i think that fight would of done wonders for Groves thats what i call a learning fight. The facts are we havent seen Degale have to take one yet, but as far as opponents faced by each fighter i think there on a par with one another, Anderson probably would give Smith a good run for there money.
I would have to back Degale on speed and boxing skills but i wouldnt rule Groves out, cant wait for next Saturday.

    I love Adam Booth x x
    Press conference DeGale-Groves

He comes across as more nervous & timid than DeGale but I think that he wants it more. Gentleman George is hungrier & winning this fight will require more than technique.
