Attention: Every close fight can't be a robbery!

I didn't get to watch most of it but you are right it was a close fight not a robbery like Trinidad-DLH

 

Nope not a robbery, I was very suprised how the fight turned out late though. Mosley stalking and turning up the heat while Cotto was on the backfoot playing the role of the counter puncher.

 

I agree that close fights are not robberies.

That said, I had Cotto winning.

in saying that i gave a couple of close ones to mosley.

i thought at the time that if they went cotto's way then he will get the decision.

 

I had this fight scored a draw and I would have been uneasy with a decision in either favor. It was SO damn close that I'm really surprised Cotto got the UD. And Lederman...I can't imagine what he was smoking to give Cotto the 12th where he did nothing but run laps. Same **** caused a draw for Winky Wright, but Cotto grabs a UD?

God help me I agree with Max Kellerman that there should be a rematch. I also think that Mayweather would pound the **** out of Cotto, but by all means bring that fight on too.

 

Maybe not a robbery, but you have to be suspicious of a fight where the judges give all the close rounds to one fighter after the referee has called timeout to do a bit of housework at a point where that fighter had just taken a big shot.

 

Close fight could have gone either way.

This was one of the best fights of the year. I thought it was close also,so close that I don't understand why Cotto would just play around in the twelfth. I had it a draw myself. But I'm not mad that Cotto won, It was a very close fight,very very close and I think both fighters raised their stock tonight.

 

I scored it a draw. There were a few close rounds, so I could see either guy winning by a round with no problem. Rematch would be great!

 

It was a very good, exciting fight. I had Cotto winning 115-113 in a close fight. Anybody who says it was a huge robbery is wrong.

 

yeah, those crying robbery probably lost a bet. it was close but shane didnt do enough..

 

When everysingle round is extremely competative like it was tonight its easy to see how people can complain about it going either way. If you were looking for clean punches or jabs you'd probably go with Cotto winning the majority of those close rounds. If you were going for the hard over hand shots by Mosley then you'd probably tip the round over to Mosleys favor.

Obviously the Judges who were sitting directly under these two fighters could hear and feel the punches that are landing and well they gave a lot of close rounds to Cotto. Because I know thats what I did. But with a competative fight like this you can't say that a fighter was "Robbed" because it is a complete irrational thing to say.

 

I really believe this is a fight where neither fighter dropped in their stock. Cotto has proven to be a very good fighter and exciting fighter, so far his fights with Judah and Mosley are candidates for fight of the year. This guy is not afraid to brawl. Mosley wasn't expecting for Cotto to be this agressive. Mosley lost control of this jab, he could never stabilize his jab and Cotto just kept coming. I think rds where close enough to where you could score them either way.
