He could have been trying to say that they were pre made pads, I wouldnt read into that too much there is a language factor there.
The test show traces of the elements in plaster of paris they found him guilty so IMO he is guilty.
Now he does have the right to appeal this is also part of our legal system here in America and if he can prove it was something else and clear his name then more power to him, then i have no other choice but to honor the decisions made by the authorities. I cant say weather or not it was or was not plaster of Paris I am not conducting the lab test.

However I think the lab could have taken it one step further and really confirmed all of the elements rather than just the two becuase its true those two elements are very common in other products.
