No, I mean they were ****ing destroyers. Chico crushes world class A level fighters, Freitas for example. He takes out guys like a prime Gainer and Manfredy like they don't even belong in the ring with him. Corrales, Casa and Castillo are competitive with any LW who ever walked the earth. How soon we forget.

I'm becoming convinced that most people on this board weren't even watching boxing back then, and that just seems like yesterday to me. Chico has one bad night, knowing he's heading to prison, and that's the ONLY fight you've ever seen him in.

He might very well be, but he doesn't go thru that gauntlet without an L. Nearly every one of those guys would be a pick-em fight with Floyd at the weight and I would favor Chavez over Floyd.

Arguello, Escalera, Flash Elorde, Gomez..that took 5 seconds....I have probably been watching as long as you are old!

They are good solid contenders in a multiple belt era...they are not even legitimate champs let alone greats or destroyers.....Do I enjoy watching them....YES, but don't make them out to be something they are not!

    Back to the thread title.

Excellent though he is / was JMM has got nothing in his arsenal to trouble Mayweather at any weight, much less what is arguably Mayweathers optimum weight.

Stop acting the ****, floyd is a ***, we know this but he is flat out better than Marquez regardless of weight, he beat the man 12-0 in rounds, the only time JMM has ever been dealt with like that in his career... Marquez might have been a bit better at 130 than he was at 147 but so was fmj, it evens itself out, no version of Marquez beats any version of fmj & I know you know this but I`m bored so thought I`d respond just for the hell of it.

Dunno why you bothered if you're just going to say stupid **** like that. FMJ was a fair bit better at 130 than he is at 147 and JMM is MILES better at LW than he is at WW. It's a completely different fight.

Except he was using Marquez's head for target practice, knocked him down in the second round and if he pushed the gas at all could have crushed him. He allowed Marquez to stay in the fight, he could have ended it at any moment.

At a heavier weight that JMM had never made before, that Floyd was accustomed to, that Floyd didn't even MAKE weight for. That makes a big difference in how you take shots. Floyd wouldn't be laughing off JMM's shots at 130.

    :rofl:rofl:good

After watching his old fights I realized he is really good. He beat Barrera bu I wonder why there was no fight between him and Morales?! Would have been an interesting epic! Morales is no push over either that is why it could have been an interesting super fight!

Okay genius, we'll play your game.

What did Marquez do during the fight that bothered Mayweather at all? Name one thing. Was his using his face to block punches making Mayweather tired? Was Missing 90% of his shots intentional and part of the grand plan?

Mayweather walked through hardly anything. Mayweather was quicker at 130 than he is at 147.

That's your opinion..but I do recognize that if the weight is over 135lbs MAYWEATHER has an edge. However if it's 130lbs or below it's a different story all together.
