Rehydration clauses another way of controlling your opponent, stacking the odds etc, the powerful side the one making the clause.

If you want to fight outside your weight class then only clause should be, both fighters make weight at weigh in.

Catch-weights have always been a thing. Jimmy McClarnin had some of his greatest battles (and wins) at a catch-weight.

I don't mind them for non title bouts, but those are a rarity for Champs nowadays. Titles should obviously be fought at the championship limit or lower.

Remedy would be to have the boxers step on scales in the dressing rooms just before the walk to the ring. There would not be any of this gaining 15 pounds the day of the fight nonsense.

The dehydrating goes on in other combat sports as well. The daughter of one of my acquaintances is a karate fighter. She routinely cuts her weight way down before a fight, then drinks gallons of water to rehydrate. That cannot be good for your internal organs.

I agree with you on the LHW-CW jump.
Let us have a "Bruiserweight" at 187!

Also sometimes a weight jump can be too tiny.
But I don't think we should go assassinating the smallest weight class.
If it has been a division forever, you are depriving small guys of a chance to box unfairly.'105 is jockey sized-but a big one considering rehydration, lol!
