Radar means... being able to see punches coming and either getting out of the way of them or blocking them.. Kinda like why Bennitez was called El Radar.
Keep in mind that Pea's defense was generally his exceptional footwork and speed. He just wasn't there to get hit. I gave Mayweather the nod for his work in the pocket.
Not sure how anybody could say May's body punching is even with Pea's.. they really aren't even close.. May rarely if ever goes to the body... Some are close.. that isn't one of them.
they sparred eachother when floyd was a teenager.. Mayweather never gave the details on who he thinks won.
When he went up in weight, he would stand flat footed in the pocket for long spells and use his upper body movement more than anything to dodge punches and find creative and awkward angles from which to land counters. When he had fresh legs at 135, yeah, it.was predominantly backfoot boxing clinics.
A sparring partner of Floyd once said his jab to the body is so significant that it changes the face of a fight instantly. Also, I noticed when Floyd was hurt by Shane's right hands, Floyd landed some effective body shots that appeared to have taken steam out of Shane which helped Floyd survive round 2. I'd have to go back and watch more vids of Pea and FMJ to decide who is the better body puncher. However I wouldn't downplay Floyd's body punching ability at all.

His feet slowed towards the end of his career. But I'll never forget his footwork in his prime. Beautiful.
