there is a reason we have weigh-ins before the day of the fight, to give the fighters a fair chance. guys making weight for the same day as the fight, it is loco. fighters will be drained and sluggish come fight time. could be another ploy by the wbc to protect chavez from sergio. oh, he cant make 160 any more. hes got to move up. LOL

It just looks the same as the 10 pound maximum gain that the IBF belt has in place.

Lol at the cruiserweights getting to rehydrate to 220, not much point of even enforcing it for them.

:patsch You are saying that being 10 pounds heavier then your opponent is nothing to worry about ?

Have you even boxed before ?

how does this change anything? if jr comes in at 176 lbs on morning of fight night, he still has 12 hours to add on 6 more lbs to come in at what he weighed last time. he could probably add more than last time with no problem.

176? If he's weighing in on the morning of the fight and he's fightinga at 160, then he has to weigh in at no higher than 160. Where are u getting 176 from?

i must have misunderstood the article. i gathered that there would be the regular weigh in the night before, where he has to be at 160, then there would be an additional weigh in on morning of fight night, where he could weigh a max of 176, leaving him with 12 hrs to add on any additional weight he can add on. is this not correct?

You have it correct. The weigh in will take place the day before as normal. The second weigh in will be at 9:30am the next day. After that you can put on as much weight as you like.

thats what i thought. for this to have any meaning, they would need to be weighed right before entering the ring.

This will not change anything, giving them that much time after the weigh in in the morning before the fight allows them to gain whatever they want... Good lip service though to act like you're trying to fix an issue.

    WTF?
This is the worse than the change to the original change to pre day weigh ins.
Death from dehydration is what people always argue. But wasn't it more a case of 15 rounds.
If the commission did their job and actually did 2 week and 1 week
Mandatory weight checks. Shouldnt be an issue of having a drained fighter. Those checks should allow 10% @ 2 weeks and 5% at 1 week out. (all fights should have preset back ups BTW)
