David Haye denies betting on himself to beat Harrison http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/9189389.stm
If this was fixed then im sure Audley would have at least made it look convincing by throwing some punches rather than just standing their doing nothing like a lamp post. We have seen time and time again what happens when Harrison is hit, he stops fighting and just covers up, he throws nothing back at all, hes like a rabbit in the head-lights. Physical attributes yeah, heart and desire...no.
Audley Harrison is a poor fighter for Christ sake, there was no need for a fix. No matter how much you dislike Haye, it was a genuine win, albeit against a fighter he should never of been in there with. As boxing fans we just need to put this complete farce behind us and hope that a deal can be agreed between Haye and the K2 and we see atleast 2 great fights.
Those who think the fight was a fix should watch more of Audley's past fights. He was intimidated, thus he barely threw. Haye's betting talk was stupid, but the fight was no fix.
it wasnt a fix , but it wasnt a KO punch either , Harrison was hurt and couldnt get away from haye so he fell over. As everyone with half a brain said at the time of announcement this is how this fight was alwyas going to go !
Exactly right. After seeing these allegations, I'm more or less 100% certain that these Klitschko fans do not watch boxing - They merely idolise the brothers, their record and their talent. Being so ignorant of Audley Harrison yet so presumptuous of the legitimacy of Haye's victory more or less confirms that as fact - They're not in it for the boxing, they simply have an insatiable sense of awe for Wlad and Vitali, two strong, brave men who are childhood superheroes or Greek Gods to them. I'm not criticising them for that, it's merely the nature of their hero-worship.
A dominating performance agaisnt a man who had been beaten by Michael Sprott and Matt Rogan. Why would any Klit fan be in denial about such a mismatch?
Don't think it was "fixed", but I do think Haye did bet on himself winning in 3. I mean why else didn't he do anything in round 1, no punches landed at all they just circled eachother and what they "trew" wasn't going to land anyway...booing crowd, and rightly so. Then round 2, more of the same... crowd booing... after a while the ref steps in that they have to start mixing it up and finally they "trow" something. Then round 3, Haye suddenly seems to have overcome his "fear" and starts with a few barrages of punches... Audley seemed ready to go in the first barrage but Haye stops... next barrage, next one and Audley is in real trouble (he didn't even try looping shots or get out of the line of fire) but still on his feet so Haye trows in a few rabbit punches. Audley goes down and turns on his back... I think it's over while the ref starts counting, but he gets up... Get's another barrage and the ref steps in. The farce is over! Question 1) Why didn't Audley trow any punches (aside from a lousy jab) the whole bout, he didn't even to defend himself? Question 2) Why didn't Haye trow any punches in round 1, and some lousy powerless shots in 2, and starts unloading in 3? It just doesn't measure up. Question 3) Why did he say he did and told his friends and family to bet on round 3 (like he did in the past fighting some tomato can)? Question 4) What happend to "Glove Gate", with Harrison's gloves having too much padding in it? Also in. The BBBoC (British Boxing Board of Control) wants to withhold (or part of) Audley's purse for his embarrasing performance.
You could wait for this to happen... (Brit forum) http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=267564
I really don't know what this is suppossed to mean. Look, shaunster hit it exactly right- this was acutally a typical perfomance by Audley. But you can be forgiven for looking at an Olympic gold medalist, getting the chance of a lifetime against a guy he physcially dwarfs, doing aboslutely nothing and hitting the deck and concluding that the fight was fixed. It just doesn't take any particular Klit love. As for Klit fans not watching boxingf, I would say there are very few of us outside of the UK who have taken the time to stay current on audley's career.
It does. It shows extreme bias and a lack of research. The thing is, fans of most boxers can admit to their flaws - Haye certainly has plenty - but there's an eerie, somewhat disconcerting sense of worship when it comes to the Klitschkos...as though they are perfection itself, and the merest hint that they may be fallible enough to instigate indignation. Stating that Audley took a dive, chest beating and proclaiming it as fact is stupidity - If you're going to make a claim like that, you have to know the style of the fighter in question. Don't spew that **** if you haven't watched enough of Harrison to know that he isn't a heavyweight destroyer, and instead a dear in headlights.
