Well BoxRec says he's 38, but DAMN I thought he was 34 tops. Lennox Lewis only retired 7 years ago and this guy was supposed to be the next Lennox Lewis? at 32?

Yeah, he doesn't have it in him to be a dominant fighter even though he has the skills and physical attributes that would make any trainer salivate.

Haye's not going to fight Harrison.
He's ambitious & he doesn't need the money.
And regardless I doubt Harrison's going to get past Sosnowski.
I've never seen evidence of his 'wasted talent' & I don't think he'll display it at this late stage.
And where is Vitali's integrity chasing an old man who had realised his ability had faded and his desire had gone?
I understand he wanted to test himself against the best & gain revenge in the process, but 5-6 years later he should accept that Lewis is no longer the best, & beating his ghost could hardly be classified as revenge.
I suspect Bernard Hopkins revenge win will not really satisfy him, and he's going to batter Roy primarily for the money.
Vitali however, seems to think beating a long retired Lewis will install him as the heavyweight G.O.A.T.

Audley was 29 or 30 when he won the Olympics. He'd been amateur for ages, hanging around hoping for the medal (although I don't know if he had been chased by promoters or not). Most people enter it young, but he didn't.

He's always got a place for me, because his fights on the BBC were the first boxing I watched, and those shows got me into boxing. The Sosnowski fight is an interesting match-up, but he has too many negatives to go with his positives.

    clearly a fishing post.

let it be known that many Brits, after he won a Gold medal, never rated him.

No wonder that he won than... Man vs kids... Much like Felix Savon.

Didn't take the babtism of fire as a proffesional for too long probably.
And the biased Britts thought he would be the next big thing based on the shining Olympic medal...:soccerye:

    Lol

I remember when he was unbeaten... Shannon Briggs said that "He don't fight prospects older than me.."

He was 35 when he was telling the world that the undisputed title is coming to England only to get the WBF title and remain dedicated to it. I remember I and very few others laughed, a lot of British fans got pissed off and told us to "wait and see". We did wait and see alright.

He's the same age as Mosley. :conf

39 doesn't necessarily have to mean you're too old in this sport. Hell, in the heavier weights it means that a lot less than the water Shane treads.

It's just that Harrison was never anywhere near the fighter Mosley is.

Its part of Audleys whole issue , he stayed an amatuer till he was 30 and he couldn't get out of the "fencing with gloves" style that olympic boxing has become. He was too old to learn the pro game
