..knocked Michael Sprott spark out in the 12th round at a time where it seemed like Audley was on the verge of being stopped himself. Ugly, ugly knockout...
Only saw from round 7 onward. The British commentators had Sprott ahead I believe by 3 points. From what I saw..it wasn't that great of a fight, but not that terrible either...though there were lulls were Audley would stick out his right hand and not doing anything at all. Audley also kept fighting in an orthodox stance only using his left hand, but according to his corner had not injured his right hand. It was really strange. Crowd boos Audley after he's announced winner.
****ing hell! Audrey was his usual weird self - never threw a right hand for about the last half of the fight. Sprott was going for the win in the last round and got KTFO. Sprott would have been a deserved winner - ahead on all score cards - and looked to seal it for the fans in the last round and got starched. Hell of a punch. Poor guy.
Sprott was ahead on all 3 scorecards and was winning the 12th. Audley didnt use his right hand for the second half of the fight. Audley has reached the highest level he will ever attain. Its downhill from here for A-Farce
Audley was poor, you could tell he was gonna throw a hailmary left hook. 4,5 and 6 rounds behind on the scorecards, nearly taken out 30 seconds before, totally undeserved.
I was feeling sorry for Audley he was getting hammered, he wasn't using his right arm at all at least from round 3 (he later said his shoulder went again) but even worse he looked negative and scared to be hit. But in the 12 round he was getting his ass handed to him and I could see he was still trying and he pulled out a left hook and starched Michael Spott! Talk about saving your career at the very very last minute!
First off, Sprott got instant medical attention and after a couple of minutes was able to stand on his own power. He seems fine thankfully. Having said that now, I think that knockout is going to become a .gif favourite if someone uploads it. A genuine early KO of the Year contender, Sprott got obliterated. I had Sprott 7-3-1 up going into the last round, and he spent the first minute of the 12th opening up with both hands trying to get a conclusive finish. Wobbled Audley into the ropes, hammered away, got turned, blocked an uppercut then went for a shot off the ropes himself...only to get interrupted by that monster left. Sprott deserved the win, well...Sprott did deserve the win, but one mistake is all it takes sometimes and Audley had to stand up some heavy punishment, rough periods in that fight and an alledged injury to his right shoulder rendering him one-handed from the 3rd round or so onwards before he found that punch from somewhere. You've gotta love boxing. Retirement to Euro Champ in one punch...it's a beautiful game.
