Harrison's name doesn't deserved to be even be mentioned along ALi's and Frazier's name. In fact all those four in the list could end "Fraud's" career. :yep :rofl And stupid as you are you are calling Jason Barnett, a fighter with 10 -6 record a future hall of famer?
What's weird about it? Weird is two british commentators ( presenter paul Dempsey with biased questions and Barry and Steve in Setanta studio) talking trash for several minutes about Audley before he got in the PH ring... They can be disappointed with him but they have no right to tell that Audley is lyin to himself when he says that Sprott's was a lucky punch and that he wants to meet Haye, a good friend of his, only in a HWT title unification... Taking Povetkin as a parallel, I would dare to say Audley is the result of poor management... Remember Marlon Brando in "On the Watterfront"? "It wasn't him (skunk manager), Charley, it was you. Remember that night in the Garden you came down to my dressing room and you said, "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going for the price on Wilson." You remember that? "This ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart! So what happens? He gets the title shot outdoors on the ballpark and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville! You was my brother, Charley, you shoulda looked out for me a little bit. You shoulda taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them dives for the short-end money. You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charley."
The first part is ok(classic?:? ),but why bother typing out a famous scene that most of us know anyway.:huh Audley mismanaged himself btw.
:huh It' poor management that he was KTFO by a feather-fisted journeyman? And Chagaev knock Sprott out thanks to his management? Are you implying they payed Sprott off to lay down against Chagaev? WTF? If you can't beat guys like Guinn and Sprott you not going anywhere no matter what management.
He was 19-0, 14 KOs ( including Tomasz Bonin) and they chose to put him against Danny Williams who had a 10 year pro experience, and against Guinn in the States right afterwards... Sprott is a former EBU, British and Commonwealth Hwt Champion, not a journeyman... But I understand what you're sayin comparing Ruslan and Audley, just that Chagaev had to fight someone like Sprott or else he wouldn't go anywhere ( it was a risk but he had to take it)... Ruslan won a MD against Virchis and had to fight Sprott ( WBA inter-continental title) and Ruiz ( WBA eliminator) to get that title shot at Valuev's WBA title. Audley didn't have to go for the quick kayo against Sprott after a 3rd round kayo win against Williams... He was mismanaged and payed the price since the British media were the ones which put that label on him - Audley as the second coming of Lennox Lewis... There must be a reason why Rafael Garcia and Buddy McGirt are with him.
"They said that he wasn't accepting reality and lyin to himself when expressing the desire to fight for a world title. Audley is very tall and has the skill set to compete... " Fraudley has certainly got all the physical attributes to be a decent heavyweight, he might also have the skill set buried somewhere deep in his toolbox to be a decent heavyweight. Unfortunately, what he doesn't have is the heart for the job, and this is a prerequisite for any pro fighter at whatever level. To be honest he is a bit of an embarrassment.
As Danny Williams said "He's got the skills to pay the bills, but he dosen't have the heart to play the part"
