to my mind, audley harrison has done a superb job in keeping the gullible british boxing fan interested in his non event of a professional boxing career, and for that alone,i take my hat off to the man.considering he somehow managed to 'earn' his right to fight for a version of the world heavyweight title, and in so doing earned c£1.5m,who are the mugs - harrison or the paying public?well done audley, you can now retire in comfort, albeit in obscurity as you will forever face ridicule in boxing circles for the rest of your life...
I must say I was quite shocked at how many people actually gave Fraudley ANY chance in this fight, and how many people were actually rooting for him, after he had hoodwinked them the first time. You would have thought people would remember that Fraudley started out talking like he'd be a world champ in five fights and then how he proceeded to fight non-entity after non-entity til he got exposed by Williams and Sprott.
i gotta say i do believe harrison when he says he never got a chance to execute his gameplan i.e. take haye into the later rounds to test his conditioning.unfortunately it was his chin that got tested first and it failed, big time.however, the idea being floated that he ought to have some/all of his purse witheld is plain daft.just because he never got to throw a meaningful punch throughout the course of this fiasco doesn't warrant such actions, and no one can question his heart as he could easily have stayed on the canvas after the initial shellacking if he was just in it for the money.the bottom line, plain and simple, is audley harrison just did not cut it at world level.unfortunately for the egomaniac that is david haye, there are at least two very capable fighters out there who are more than just self publicising frauds.they'd both give 'the hayemaker' a merciless pounding, and no mistake.
That is really an achievement! I was a bit surprised when Sosnowski got a titleshot at Vitali, but (in retrospect, when compared to Harrison) he at least fought some semi-decent opponents and tried his best against Klitschko... and yet he finished with less than 1 mln E. Possibly Harrison was trying to break Golota record - losing all major fights, getting one titleshot after another despite it, and still getting payed (per minute) more than many ATGs.
Golota was psycho. but way better then Audley He was a joke against Lewis Grant Tyson and Brewster. His title shots with Byrd and Ruiz was very good .With BYrd and he won IMO, with Ruiz he also should win but that was worse fight by Andrew, he didnt manage to overpower Ruiz style
