Danny took Audley at short notice for the second fight - and all in all it was Audley's best performance, by a distance. A prime, fit and focused Danny KO's any heavy in the UK (possibly Haye excepted) - but you never get all three at the same time. Usually just one, seldom two.
Again, I don't really disagree with you. Williams is the most talented heavyweight who has been on the British title scene for a fair few years now. But the fact is that he never made full use of his talents and ended up spending his career fighting on a more or less equal basis with a bunch of fighters who didn't have anything close to his talent level, the Skeltons and Sprotts of this world. Not to mention Harrison, who shares with Williams the distinction of wasting more talent than most of his rivals. As you say yourself, a prime, fit and focused Williams was for all intents and purposes a near-mythical beast. He was missing at least one of those things at pretty much every point in his career. Competing at British title level doesn't mean being able to beat a prime, fit and focused Williams. It means being able to compete with the Harrisons and Skeltons and Sprotts and Williams who actually exist. And Rogan, for all his many and obvious limitations, has just shown that he can beat one of them. I'd pick Williams to beat Rogan four times out of five. I'd pick him to do it relatively easily too. But on the fifth occasion, the Williams who loses to guys without a fraction of his talent will show up. In fact he might show up on the fourth occasion too, Williams is that unpredictable.
i dont know what harrisons problem is. the guy is undeniably talented but as soon as he steps in the ring he just turns in to a girl. i think the sprot ko turned him in to a bit of a *****. thats all i can think of. such a waste of talent.
I think barring Lennox Lewis, you would struggle to think of a more naturally talented British heavyweight ever than Danny Williams. Physically strong, good beard, big puncher, fast - but mentally frail and surrounded by jokers. If he had someone like Manny Steward or even Terry Lawless training him, he could have gone an awful long way.
He still believes that he can win a world title. Hell, yes!!! Without a chin, you aren't going too far in boxing. People point to Fraudley utter lack of heart - what do you think caused that? If you knew that one solid hit would send you into dreamland, you'd fight a little scared too!:yep
Man Audley loves mugging him self off . what made me laugh was the interview after the fight Harrison was he's normal delusional self saying it nearly clicked in there and that it wasn't over for him and that 2009 was gonna be big for him . what a joke he couldn't even look at the camera when he was saying this like he didn't belive he's own bull**** no more . has all the tools but not guts to implement them. the sprott defeat has mentally finished him which shown in this fight with him using the jab to keep rogan away rather then using it to bust him up and when ever Fraudley threw a shot you could see in he's face that he was scared of being knocked out again . a good win for Martin though
I wasn't even shocked that he lost, not that Morgan was that good or anything but as soon as I saw Morgan had 10-0 I knew Audley was broken down mentally anyway.
