Audley Harrison vs Deontay Wilder has been confirmed - who wins?

  1. Every time I'm convinced he can do it, before the inevitable humiliation comes.

    This time is no different.

    YES HE CAN.

I think Audley gets KO'd fast, but for the first time in a long time, I'm hoping he can pull it off.

If Audley were to win it would probably be one of my favourite moments in boxing. Audley winning gold in Sydney is one of my earliest boxing memories and a big reason I started watching boxing.

I like Wilder, but some of his fans read way too much into him KOing a series of journeymen. That said, I think it is evident that he has decent power, and is able to land on lower level opposition to capitalise on it. However, he is in exactly the same boat as Price was before losing - that is his defense hasn't really been tested (although I raised concerns after the Skelton fight). We already knew that Price had suspect whiskers (those denying it were burying their heads in the sand), but we don't quite know yet with Wilder. The problem is that we DO know that Audley has suspect punch resistance, and a frustrating inability to press a fight and pull the trigger when it really matters...unfortunately those two factors do not combine well with someone who has decent power, a reach advantage, and a willingness to push a fight. I'm not convinced that Wilder's defense will really get tested that much due to Audley's timid approach, but I think Wilder will be able to land...which is probably enough.

I'm sad to say that I expect a Wilder KO, but it would be one of British Boxing's great stories if Audley could pull this off and somehow make something out of his last few fights.

Shocked at the poll so far .

Do you really think Wilders management would allow this fight if they didn't

think it was a walkover ?

Do you think David Price's management would make that mistake?

Do you think Mike Tyson's management would make such a mistake against Douglas?

Accidents and miscalculations happen. If boxing was as simple as painting with numbers, some promoter would of got the theory right by now...

Harrison and Wilder are not strangers they have sparred together.

I hope Audley wins but really cant see Wilders team puting him in without

    knowing the result.

Wilder knocked Harrison down multiple times in sparring just before the price fight, audley confirmed this on his twitter. He said something along the lines of 'he knocked me down a few times but never put me out cold, if I can take Wilders power I can take prices'...so what happens without headgear, smaller gloves and the opportunity for wilder to finish audley after a knockdown? Audley has taken this for the payday, I don't believe he is going in there to win or even believes he can...but then again who knows with audley.

Personally can't see anything other than audley being scared to throw and wilder landing a big right early, I will be stunned if audley wins this.

Audley winning this this would represent one of the most joyful moments in recent boxing history.

    Wilder is ****....

I actually thought Audley would KO Price, unfortuantley Price got their first.... I hate to make boxing sound simplistic, but for me this fight really is.

Whoever gets to the other first will win.

I cant quite remember the interview, but Audley was talking about Price getting KO’d by Thompson & criticizing himself for not getting to him first.

He won’t make the same mistake with Wilder…

    TKO 3 A-FORCE!

Over on the Scene there's a "source" who confirms that Audley dropped Wilder TWICE in sparring. They weren't flash knockdowns either apparently, Audley proper hurt him. Adds more to the rumours that Wilder's chin is glass.

The Scene is a website with a good reputation and they don't seem to ever put anything up that's COMPLETELY untrue so I believe this story.

I think Audley will win, if he can just make it through the first few round without freezing. He too often let's his opponent hurt and finish him before he can settle like Sprott, Haye and Price all did. If he can keep Wilder off him for the first couple of rounds then I seriously see him being the one who dishes out the embarrassment on the night instead of usually being the embarrassed one himself.

Audley to win a wide UD, maybe a stoppage in the mid rounds if he lands a big left counter.
