    hope this is true.

would mean klitschko (the most likely to win the unification bout) will then have time to face povetkin, before having to fullfil his wbo mandatory requirement.

so if wladimir fights povetkin in june, and audley and thompson fight on the undercard that sets up the wbo mandatory bout for end of 2008.

would be nice as this means wladimir would unify then meet both his mandatories 6 months apart. this will basically leave nearly a year free to make a match with chagaev.

chagaev will most likely take the fight. he will have hopefully fought his mandatory in middle of this year as well, then will want to cash in against wladimir early 2009 since he seems to be getting slopppier with each passing fight. maybe the sickness rumours of hepitisis were true. i mean he looked very tired and average against the 39 year old regional fighter in skelton, so i imagine he would prefer a massive payday to losing his belt to a no-name.

whether audley is done or not, is not the point.

thompson knows he has to wait since the wladimir/povetkin matchup would be far more interesting to most fans than a fight with him.

afterall thompson is mainly in the shadows still and at age 35 he isn't stupid. rather than kick up too much of a stink he obviously would see the benefits of fighting audley.

    1. audley's chin is REALLY bad. so thompson would have a chance

    2. audley is well known, so a win over him would make thompson more recognised and that in turn means more money hopefully in the wladimir fight.

    3. audley is a great stay busy fight for thompson because he gets a good payday, against a safe-ish opponent.

    4. and finally, thompson doesn't really have much say in the matter. if he squeals too much, wladimir might simply vacate the wbo belt and thompson misses out on a career high payday.

so he's taking what he can in the short term. which is a good idea if this all turns out to be true.

If nothing else, you have to admire Fraudley's determination to get beaten up

Thompson is going to kill this fool. Did you see what journeyman Sprott did to him? Thompson by mid-round TKO

Audley is a GREAT Olympic/Ammy fighter. He's doesn't have the mentality of
    a pro fighter.

Tony is pretty aggressive and hits pretty hard too. He's a southpaw also
and has descent skills. I think Harrison gets stopped in this 1.

ya know ive seen quite a few of harrisons fights. the man was knocked down once by danny williams, who can hit like a train. and the only knockout he has ever suffered was by a wild ass left hook that hit perfectly. anyone who has any kind of decent pugilistic knowledge knows that if hit perfectly it will put anyones lights out, so i dont really count that against him. look at oleg maskaev, knocked out a couple times but five years later can take hasim rahmans punches perfectly fine. now on to harrisons REAL shortcomings not this shaky chin B.S. . he does seem nervous to let his hands go against quality competition although in his last two fights that hasnt been much of a problem just look at that thrashing of danny williams. if that issue doesnt come up again i dont see any problem with him getting an eventual showdown with wlad the impaler. that is one match id like to see wlad against a healthy and confident harrison.

I'm with you on this. Harrison lacks confidence big time, but he has good ability when he turns it on. Pretty skilled fighter if you ask me. If only he'd let his hands go he could be great, but he craps himself too easily.

As for the poll, I'm really not sure because I know very little about Thompson. I won't bother voting.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

Oh, puh-leez!!! Fraudley's chin IS GRADE A CHINA. He was shaken up by tomato cans on multiple occassions before Williams put him on his ass, and then the FEATHER-FISTED Sprott starched him. Oh, and rumor has it he was laid out cold in the gym more than once, too.

I just love how some boxing fans will twist and turn and come up with the silliest "logic" to deny the obvious. If someone gets knocked out cold by a light-hitter like Fraudley did, chances are their chin is grade A china.

Here's a GLASS JAW in action, doing what it does best - getting shattered:
