woopdy****ingdoo :verysad Following the recent vehicle crash in Vero Beach whilst training for a fight, Audley Harrison suffered injuries to his right hand and his left pectoralis. Shortly after the incident, Audley visited orthopaedic hand surgeon James W. Vahey MD who placed Audleys right hand into a cast to treat two fractured bones. Audley had sustained a small fracture at the base of his second metacarpal and a fracture of the dorsal lip of his carpal hamate during the crash. Dr Vahey recommended a two week period of cast immobilisation followed by two additional weeks of splint immobilisation but Audley will actually be in case for four weeks, three of which have already passed. On October 23rd Audley saw Stephen Lombardo, MD at the Kerlan & Jobe Surgical Center and underwent a successful left pectoralis repair. Audley will be in a sling for six weeks and start his rehabilitation programme for six months. He is expected to return to the boxing ring in 6-8 months. Audley commented: This is a really tough blow to suffer. I was really looking forward to working with Dennis Hobson and getting back in the ring again. I am out for a long time and although the mountain keeps getting higher, I still have the desire and the fight to climb it. I will complete my rehabilitation programme and return to the ring as soon as all my injuries have healed.
Audley is out for 6 to 8 months? The good news for his fans is that he won't be knocked out again for 6 to 8 months.
This will be a major selling point for Audley fans when they are trying to hype their favorite fighter to the Audley haters: I'll have you know that A Force has not been beaten, much less, stunned or even KOed..........for eight full months, now! But seriously, are they still refering to Audley as the next big, up and comer, like they were a couple years ago? I got a kick out of them hyping him as a young, up and coming prospect, and he was in his mid 30s, already, and had not yet beaten even one decent name. By the time he's over this injury, and is back in the ring,he'll be pushing 40, but he's still a prospect to watch. But kidding aside, its good to see that he's not hurt, and can continue to try and make money fighting. Can't discredit the man for that, cause fighiting, even where he is, is probably making him more money that he'd make at anything else, so why not?
Now, that's putting a positive spin on it. He may have had his hand repaired, but short of getting a jaw replacement, there isn't much that'll help A-FARCE.:-(
I'd like to see him fight for the British Title too. While It's obvious he's not as good as we all hoped he'd be he can still provide entertaining fights and who knows, with the state of the heavyweight division, he might even win a world title.
I wish people would get off his case a bit. I hate this ****ing "who can hate Audley the most" bandwagon that everyone wants to be on. The guy let a lot of people down, he's been beaten, and he's plainly never going to be a world champion, but to keep gloating over his failure makes you appear petty and childish. The guy's suffered enough, give him a break. Its tragic because he's got more god-given ability than most people in the top 10 have. Its all the other things, lack of heart, age, inactivity, chin, that've stopped him. I think thats why people supported him too much, coz they could see the talent, and I dont think that makes them stupid. I had big hopes for Audley myself until the Danny Williams fight. Danny Williams was there for the taking, he was dead meat, but Audley just didn't want to fight and stunk the ****ing place out. I actually scored that "fight" a couple of rounds for Audley but it made no difference, it showed me everything I needed to know. For all his skills you cant train heart or bottle.
Oh cry me a river!! :| Fraudley bamboozled the BBC for big bucks, then deceived the boxing public by fighting one tomato can after another - all the while talking **** like he was god's gift to boxing - and walked away a millionaire after his biggest "accomplishment" in the sport was getting knocked out cold by a journeyman. And boxing fans are supposed to feel SYMPATHY for this guy??? atsch I'm sorry A-FARCE was hurt in a car accident, but as far as what this JOKE did in a boxing ring?? No friggin' way - he ripped the sport off, talked ****, and, in general, IMPERSONATED a fighter!!! All he'll EVER be is a KO waiting to happen - AGAIN!! :yep
Seriously...why the hatred? Lot of fighters talk ****, or are overrated, or are KO's waiting to happen. Lots of fighters don't live up to their potential. But, the bottom line is that Harrison continues to step into the ring, and try and make a career for himself. People don't like Audley...and that there's right. But shadenfraude is only so good for so long before it becomes a rather purile form of motivation...and, as far as Harrison is concerned that time has long since passed. Bottom line is this...Audley was pretty badly injured, and it's nice to know that he's OK. He's thinking of making a return to the ring, and I wish him well in the attempt. It's the same that I'd wish for any fighter, and any human being. And...for anyone else who thinks differently, I have only one thing to say... "Grow up."
That it is. And the truth is, pretty much the only boxing fans who give a **** about Fraudley are people like me, who are iching to see him get laid out cold again. It's not just that Fraudley talked **** - he talked all sorts of **** long before he had ANY justification for it. This is a guy who said he'd fight for a title in his fifth fight - and then proceeded to fight a bunch of stiffs. As soon as Fraudley faced decent fighters, he lost - and his Grade A China chin was exposed. I'd feel sorry for the guy if he didn't talk all that ****, and collect all that cash for doing basically NOTHING - while there are tons of hard-working pro fighters who don't get paid **** for actually TRYING in the ring.
I agree with everything you said more or less, its just that you gloating all the time over someone's entire career failing is actually pretty ****ing pathetic. He was a let down, but he doesn't deserve this level of hatred at all.
Audley Harrison is a joke. Full stop. He was cleverly marketed and as someone else said conned the BBC in paying him a million pounds for his first 10 fights. He should never have been top of the bill for his first fight against that 16 stone american bum. He needed to prove himself in the professional game before he was given such a platform to fight on. I agree, he has some boxing skills, but clearly he misses the attributes to become a solid fighter. He may become a world champion, but that doesnt mean a lot in today's game.
Thats the BBC's fault, not his. If you got a million pounds to fight ten fights then you'd do that. His choice of opponents was poor, and he conducted himself badly, and he's paid a terrible price for that. Getting his ass starched by Michael Sprott is embarassing enough without a load of ****ing nerds on the internet gloating over it. And cleverly marketed? no he was terribly marketed. thats why everyone hates him. He won the gold medal and was the hottest thing in amatuer boxing anywhere in the world, they could've managed him way better. His problems come with the fact he managed his own career and ****ed it up.
