He never had a chance! He should have done an awful lot better than he did but for all his pomp and posture he was never as mentally strong as he made out. He was an extemely arrogant man at the beginning of his pro career, rubbed the British public up completely the wrong way and then things went from bad to worse. He's never gonna do anything - if he could have, he would have by now!!!

He should be banned from any ring in the world. A joke now.

I don't think he has ever made big money but I think he is probably doing okay. At the time £1m was definitely mentioned for his 10 fight deal with the BBC but that doesn't go very far these days. Beyond that a couple of Prizefighters and regular wages for most of his jobs. He lives in LA I believe and his wife owns a salon.

Dunno, his recent nonsense baiting Eddie Chambers aside, I can't help but like Audley.

To be fair one million pounds didn't go that far back in those days- the Lewis/Rahman rematch was supposed to be on the BBC but they baulked at the cost which was rumoured to be one million pounds plus.

As I said I not a fan but me too, for some reason old Audley has grown on me over the years.

He is not a bad person, he has not murdered anybody LOL
he just believes in himself even though nobody believes in him.

I wouldn't want to see him in a ring again, but I actually find him a good talker, he is/was a great salesman too when talking up his fights. I would welcome Audley staying involved in boxing other than in the ring for sure.

I guess he has a decent income now, boxing in some aspect must still give him a wage? also, isn't he supposed to be a decent poker player and won a few bob over the years?

It was a strange set up altogether. I remember my old manager Richie Woodhall commentating on Audleys first defence of his WBF World Championship against Julias Francis after something like 14-15 fights. Whoever was co-commentator was actually mocking the title during the broadcast.

The annoying thing is....he still adds something to a bill. If he'd made franks bill last week i'd have probably wanted to watch him over anybody else on it. I know how wrong that is. There's just something about him that keeps you interested....weather it's to see him knocked out again or see him overcome the odds. I ll be honest as much as he's conned the public a few times with his displays i m in the overcome the odds camp. Even tho i m a stern no he cant. He's not good enough for a certain level. Has some good tools but still probably the most frustrating fighter i ve seen for a long time.

If he's serious and not just in it to cash in dont see why he doesn't get himself back in the ring and go on a run against lower level guys and slowly build it up for one last crack at it....even tho the same thing will probably happen again. But at this stage doesn't deserve an oppertunity with anyone thats relevant. Been too many times. But seems to miss boxing so why not give it another crack. I dont know why eddie doesn't sign him up for cheap...he's already got a profile anyway/good talker etc/can probably still knock over a good few doesn't take the public much to start believing again.
