22 August 2009 - Toyota Center, Houston, Texas, United States 9pm est

    ~ Middleweight Bout ~
Daniel “The Golden Child” Jacobs -600
    Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith +400
    Over 9.5 rounds -180, Under +140

~ IBF Super Featherweight Championship ~
    Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero -175
    Malcolm “Stone” Klassen +145
    Over 8.5 rounds -325, Under +250

    ~ Light Welterweight Bout ~
    Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz -600
    Paul “Magic Man” Malignaggi +400
    Over 11.5 rounds -210, Under +160

The only bet that I like is Klassen at +145 to retain his IBF 130 lb. title. I think that Guerrero is a bit over-rated and hasn't shown much above 126, and Klassen while relatively unknown did demonstrate in his fight against fellow countryman Baloyi that he most definitely can bang. Guerrero is prone to getting drawn into slugfests (as in the Litzau brawl) and if he does this against Klassen, I can see a scenario where the South African bombs him out.

    Thoughts?

I like the Klassen bet as well. I think Malignaggi is too big of an underdog, when hes determined and focus hes a very good fighter and I think he knows that if he loses this fight hes done, but his latest remarks yesterday about how "boxing is a joke" sounds like the words of a discouraged person, so i dunno.

Yes, if I were to bet on anyone in the main event, it would be Diaz and I can't remember the last time I laid 6 to 1 on anything... that's just too much risk for too little reward. On the other hand, Malignaggi's comments almost completely preclude me from considering taking him at that tasty price. I think this is an obvious "steer-clear" fight for bettors.

You can get +550 on ishe at the greek but I would not touch that against Jacobs....

Klassen is a decent bet. He could certainly beat Guerrero.

That's a good line, I have +475 at 5Dimes. I put a little on Ishe, and Diaz ITD +210. Paulie's possible hand problem and obvious discouraged remarks about giving in to the weight/location/judges/etc makes me think Diaz might be able to get it done. Both action bets though, nothing large

If that's the style you think this fight will be, might be worth a shot at taking the under? Just a thought

Also, good value on Klassen, at 5Dimes, it's -140/+120
